Kaitlin Powell is simply one of the best photographers in Pittsburgh! During our home engagement session Kaitlin easily made us feel comfortable with being in front of a camera and it was great practice for the wedding day. Kaitlin and her second photographer went above and beyond by pinning on boutonnières and placing flowers on cocktail tables! She pays attention to details and values organization. Every time I look at our wedding photos I get excited all over again. When people look at our photos the first thing they say is “these are so you”!

I love having this time in life captured and know that we also look like ourselves in them. Hiring Kaitlin as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we made!

I pride myself in not being just another wedding vendor. Hopefully by the end of your engagement (or even after our first meeting), you’ll consider me a friend!

As your wedding photographer, you’ll get a personalized experience – someone who will always have your best interests at heart, and is looking forward to your wedding day almost as much as you are! I will cry when you walk down the aisle and say your vows. I’ll cheer when you have your first kiss, and dance with you when the music starts.

I’m passionate about real and authentic moments, so my shooting style is relaxed. I feel that if I’m relaxed, so are you and that allows your personalities to come shining through. There’s going to be lots of cuddling, eskimo kisses, organic movement, touching foreheads and holding hands while being stupid and weird (if that’s your thing). If you want to laugh – laugh. If you want to cry – cry. Forget I’m even there and just enjoy being with each other! And at the end of the day, I promise to pour my heart and soul into real and timeless shots that will preserve the – sometimes messy – perfection of your life forever.

I cannot stress this enough: hire Kaitlin for your wedding or any life event that you want captured. Kaitlin is not only an amazing person, but also an incredible photographer. My husband and I had never gotten professional photos taken prior to our engagement session, and she made us feel so comfortable right away, which is key to getting photos that feel “you.” My family and friends continually rave about our engagement and wedding photos because you can feel the love, emotion, and happiness in them. These are some of the best days of our lives, and because of Kaitlin’s work, we get to remember each and every moment and how we felt just by looking at photographs.

Kaitlin is an outstanding photographer, and my husband and I couldn’t be more thrilled with our engagement and wedding photos! Can we give Kaitlin 6 stars???!!! She went ABOVE AND BEYOND as our wedding photographer from the very beginning. Pittsburgh is my hometown but my husband and I live in Georgia; Kaitlin helped us so much in figuring out locations to shoot. She even drove us around a month before our wedding to point out her favorite spots! THEN, when our wedding day turned out to be cold and rainy, she took control in the moment and took us to all new spots that had coverage from the rain. I TRULY don’t know what we would have done if she wasn’t a part of our day!!! She knew exactly what to do, and her confidence kept me calm and positive. She’s also hilarious, friendly, and fun, and made us super comfortable in front of the camera, which led to the most beautiful and natural wedding photos we could have asked for! She truly captured US. Bottom line is, anyone can take pictures at your wedding, but if you want someone who is prepared, professional, welcoming, friendly, and artistic, and who will go above and beyond for you on your day, Kaitlin is THE only option!!!

WE’RE HAVING A DESTINATION WEDDING! DO YOU TRAVEL? Yes! Anywhere. Anytime. I’ll even travel for engagement sessions!

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO SECURE MY DATE? You will need a signed contract and a paid non-refundable retainer. While you will get first right of refusal (FRF) for being the first to inquire about a date, no date is blocked off until your contract & payment has been received. Should another couple inquire about your date, you will be given 48 hours to make your decision before FRF goes to the new couple.

HOW MUCH IS THE NON-REFUNDABLE RETAINER? It is 40% of your total package price.

WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU TAKE?

You can pay by card, cash or Venmo. All invoices are subject to a 7% sales tax & 3% credit card fee. The credit card fee will be removed if paying by cash or check.

WHEN CAN I EXPECT MY IMAGES TO BE READY? All wedding galleries are ready within 3 months from the wedding date. (You will receive a preview within the first week of your wedding day). Sessions are ready within 2 weeks. All galleries are edited in the order in which they were shot.

HOW WILL MY IMAGES BE DELIVERED? You will receive an private online gallery. From there you can download your photos directly and even order prints!

WHO ARE YOUR SECOND PHOTOGRAPHERS?

I have 1 full time regular second and a few other part time second photographers. We all work great together and I assure you no matter who your second is, their quality will be impeccable.

HOW DO I GET PRINTS/ALBUMS? You can order prints directly from your online gallery! Albums are made custom. Email KP to start your album & for pricing.

WHAT IF I NEED TO RESCHEDULE?

I understand, things happen. I’ll do my best to work with you in finding a new date that works for both of us. Any monies you have paid, can be transferred to your new date. Any outstanding payments will have their due date updated to reflect the new event date. A new retainer fee will be required to secure your new date at the time of scheduling. There is no rescheduling fee for portrait sessions, unless you are a no-show.

UNAVAILABLE ON OUR RESCHEDULED DATE? Have no fear, you will not be without a photographer! I will arrange to have an associate shoot your event in my absence, and I will complete & deliver your gallery as normal so the KP “style” you’ve come to know and love will still be how your gallery looks!

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL? If you cancel more than 30 days before your event, you will receive a refund for any monies that you have paid (excluding your non-refundable retainer fee, airfare, car rentals & hotel bookings subject to company policies). Any future payments will be voided. Should you cancel within 30 days of your event, any outstanding payments will still be owed, and no refunds will be issued.

DO YOU OFFER ANY DISCOUNTS? Active military or guard (ID required) will receive a 10% discount as a thank you for your service.

OTHER PEOPLE TAKE PHOTOS WHILE YOU’RE TAKING PHOTOS?

If you’re hiring me, I will be the sole photographer for your event (excluding a hired videographer). Attendees with “professional cameras” (or cameras of the like) are not allowed camera access during portraits or the ceremony, as they disrupt the process. It is asked that family and friends do not photograph posed images and keep phones/cameras in check during the ceremony. I encourage all of my couples to have an “unplugged” ceremony. Guests can go photo crazy during the reception! (Unplugged weddings aren’t required; just suggested.)

Kaitlin is an incredible photographer! We hired her to capture our wedding day after considering many Pittsburgh area photographers. Her portfolio was beautiful, but we knew she was the one after meeting her for the first time where with her warm personality she immediately felt like a friend we would want to join us on our wedding day. She was incredibly detailed and organized throughout the planning process. She made us so comfortable during the day and our photos just feel like us. I could not recommend her more highly as a wedding photographer or to capture any other important moments in your life!

Kaitlin is the BEST! Honestly, hiring Kaitlin was one of the best decisions that we made while planning for our wedding. My husband and I have always felt awkward in front of the camera (we legit only had 10-15 photos of the two of us together in 4+ years), so when we were talking to photographers, it was important to us that we find someone who put us at ease.
