What do mobilities and the freedom of movement mean today? What insights can art movements and how we (used to/could) move, reveal? (What) Could ‘Running Studies’ contribute towards creative steps to re-imagine the world around us? How could ‘running art-fully’ spark flights of thought for us to study ourselves?Have we as artists, researchers and runners been playing too safe?
Set against the precarious situation today, and with attention paid to the Parisian mise-en-scène, the RUN!RUN!RUN! Biennale #r3fest 2018 explores Dangerous Movements. It is hosted by Paris School of Culture and Arts. Co-curated by Kai with Dr Vybarr Cregan-Reid (Primate Change 2018), this year’s programme consists of reading, performance-lecture, poster display, art exhibition and two new performances. It features feminist researcher Dr Elisa Hererra Altamirano, artists Zejun Yao, Dr Carali McCall, James Steventon, Dr Matti Tainio and Dr Veronique Chance, and Holland's top writer Abdelkader Benali.
