Sunday, 30th July – 2.30pm Bunjil Place, Narre Warren
Casey Philharmonic Orchestra is a young, innovative and vibrant community orchestra of volunteer musicians based in the City of Casey. We held our first rehearsal in June 2017, and performed at the opening of Bunjil Place, Narre Warren – now our principal performance venue - in October the same year. Now in our sixth year CPO continues to provide extraordinary opportunities for musicians in Melbourne’s outer south-east. We strongly value building collaborative relationships with other local arts organisations, and we pride ourselves on performing orchestral music of the highest calibre for the enjoyment of our audiences and musicians alike. CPO was a finalist in the 2023 Casey Community Awards (Lindsay King Art Award).
CPO is delighted to welcome you to Bunjil Place this afternoon for our blockbuster event - ‘Villains and Superheroes’ - where we play a huge lineup of well-loved big screen movie themes from DC® , Marvel® and more! We’re also thrilled to be premiering two new orchestral works by young, local composers who were prize winners in our Composer’s Competition held in February this year. We hope you enjoy our musical depiction of noble heroes and diabolical villains in CPO’s dynamic performance of good versus evil, ‘Villains and Superheroes’!
As a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation, we are reliant on the generous support of individuals, groups, councils, businesses and organisations. This support allows us to continue to enrich the arts community within the City of Casey and beyond. Here are a few ways that you can help Your CPO!

The title now refers to the origins of this villain, feeling they have no choice but to act poorly - As if by some twisted ideology they are justified in their anger and heinous actions.
