Camp Kef at the Kaiserman JCC is committed to providing an excellent, well-rounded summer camp experience where all children have the opportunity to gain knowledge, skill, self esteem, Jewish pride, lasting friendships and unforgettable memories in a safe, nurturing and fun environment. Powered by a dynamic staff and challenging programs for all ages, Camp Kef is the place to be! In fact, we have so much fun here that we named our camp “Kef” which is Hebrew for “fun”!

Captain

KEF

Captain Kef was created as a role model. The Captain displays all the best attributes we hope to instill in our campers. Captain Kef embodies strength, imagination, caring for others and, of course, fun! Presenting our campers with a powerful role model is key to creating a new wave of future Camp KEF ambassadors. Not only does Kef = fun, but it also equals a new system of campers, counselors, directors and educators working together to build a summer experience that will help inspire children, showing them that there is a superhero inside all of us. There’s something empowering about putting on a cape. Immediately you feel faster, stronger, more magical, and capable of great things. Here’s the thing: Camp Kef will inspire our campers to realize that with or without the cape, they are capable of intense awesomeness. Flex your superhero muscles and fly!

Marci Rubin: Camp Director

Rachel Singer: Camp Assistant Director

Marci has been actively involved with the JCC since 1990 when her children started preschool. She was a teacher here for 3 years, Director of Children and Family Programs for 2 years, and Camp Director from 1991 until 2001, when she “retired”. During Marci’s retirement, she continued her involvement at Kaiserman by becoming a board member.

Having spent over half of her life at JCC camps, including many summers at Camp Pinemere, Rachel has always been passionate about creating a career in the camping world. She has had many years of camp experience as a counselor and a supervisor before joining the Camp Kef team as Assistant Director in 2015. Rachel’s first summer at Camp Kef was very successful. With preparations under way for summer 2016, she cannot wait to make this summer at Kef the best yet!

In 2012, Marci returned to the Kaiserman JCC as the Camp Director and, with her awesome team, created Camp Kef. With new leadership and programming, Camp Kef has grown by almost 25%! Marci’s experience, love of camp and the JCC, will surely make the summer of 2016 full of special memories and lots of fun!

What Are Parents Saying

About Camp Kef! Once again this year, our son really enjoyed camp. He’s still saying the Color Wars chant and singing songs he learned there, and of course he LOVED the swimming. He also discovered he really likes Gaga ball!

I can’t believe how much fun my son had. He can’t stop talking about Camp Kef and is already excited for next year!

I just wanted to thank you again for a wonderful summer. My children had an absolute blast. They were always eager to go to camp in the morning and were always full of stories when they came home!
