ROSKILL SOUTH PROGRESS UPDATE Autumn 2020

LEGO MANIA AT THE NEIGHBOURHOOD INFO DAY The beautiful sunny weather attracted a great crowd to our Neighbourhood Info Day on March 14, which was respectfully opened by our local Imam in memory of the 2019 Christchurch mosque attacks and was closed by the Mt Roskill Baptist Church with a karakia. Locals enjoyed soulful live music, shared kai cooked by the Mt Roskill Community Patrollers and enjoyed refreshments from the Mt Roskill Baptist Church whānau. Many members of the community also stopped by to chat with the Roskill Development team and our civils partner Piritahi, who shared important information about noise, dust and vibration in the neighbourhood.

The Roskill Development team put together a fun ‘Who’s Who’ event, which was a great way for local whānau to make introductions and get to know each other. Meanwhile, the kids enjoyed themselves playing on the diggers and building some truly epic creations in the kids’ Lego City Challenge, (although it’s safe to say the adults had just as much fun!) A big thank you to our colleagues from the Roskill office for the colouring in activities and awesome giveaways. We’d also like to thank Bike Kitchen for joining us and sharing their amazing mahi in our community. You can check out their bike tours around the hood by following Roskill Bike Kitchen on Facebook.
