Once upon a time, there was a beautiful land in the heart of Europe called Poland. It was a land of vast forests, rolling hills, and sparkling lakes. The story of Poland began a long, long time ago. The first people to call this land their home were the Slavs; The Slavs were pagans until Mieszko I who brought Christianity and put Poland on the Map.

Baptism of Poland
The Year 1410, Poland fought the Battle of Grunwald with their ally the Grand Duchy of Lithuania against the Order of the Teutonic Knights, who were a catholic religious institution founded as a military society.
Poland fought hard and they were victorious, Battle of Grunwald was considered one of the largest battles in medieval Europe. The war ended with the siege of Malbork Castle which caused the Teutonic Order to crumble.
The Commonwealth also known as the First Rzeczpospolita or First Polish Republic. The commonwealth began with the personal union and marriage of Jadwiga of Poland and Jogaila the Grand Duke of Lithuania which established the federation of Poland and Lithuania ruled by one monarch and the Jagiellonian dynasty.
