The Heart of Rubyyaya
Melissa’s love for textiles runs deep it’s in her blood. Coming from five generations of fabric and textile specialists, her journey was almost destined. “My greatgreat-grandfather started in the textile industry, and every generation since has followed. My father was in fabrics, and now my own children are part of the business too,” she tells us. This deep-rooted heritage continues to inspire her today, shaping Rubyyaya’ s signature aesthetic joyful, free-spirited, and unapologetically vibrant. The name Rubyyaya itself reflects this love of colour and happiness, capturing the essence of a brand that makes women feel radiant the moment they slip into one of its beautifully designed pieces. Melissa believes that colour is more than just an aesthetic choice—it’s a feeling. “Bold colour has always been a core part of my design language because it has the power to evoke emotion, confidence and joy,” she explains. “Colour isn’t just about how something looks; it’s energy, and I think that’s why it resonates with our customers. It allows them to express themselves in a fearless, unapologetic way. ”

Melissa says she draws creative inspiration from many sources travel, art, music, and the people around her.
“Fashion is an expression of individuality, and I love taking ideas from different cultures and landscapes. They offer such a unique perspective on colours, prints, and textures,” she shares.
More than anything, Melissa wants women to feel incredible when they wear Rubyyaya. “The one thing I want women to feel when they wear this collection is empowered,” she tells us. “That could mean feeling confident, effortlessly chic, or just completely themselves. I want them to feel like the best version of who they are. ”
