description: The initial block is extruded upwards 5 times, with each extrusion being equidistant.

The extruded blocks are then rotated downwards, switching directions with each iteration, as well as reducing the angle of rotation.

These blocks are then extruded themseleves, with each extrusion doubling in distance with every progression.

This process creates the branch, the initial block, which has then three mutations, the first two being two different scalings of the extruded distances. For the third mutation the original branch is twisted at the ends, each outer block is roated down, and then to the side, and switching sides with each iteration. The rotation starts with 10 degrees, and increases by 10 degrees with each block. This creates the “Stem� block.

Each branch is oriented to the outer blocks of the stem counterpart accordingly, laminating their base block with the stems rotated outer block, creating a family of branches component.

Natural Growth Through a System

description: Each family of stems are connected by a conducting stem, from which all the othher stems ‘grow’ out of. When following the path of these interlocking stems, you begin to understand the form of a core branch, from which these other forms flow out of.

Families Stemming From Eachother

description: The families are catagorized by colors.

From the fourth and fifth manipulated cubes of the origin stem, or the seed, flourish the new families, each connected through their own stem from which new stems branch out, creating the family. These families branch out on their own, switching the connection- from either the fourth, or to the fifth.

Aggregating Components Through Void and Plane Each component is added onto the next one based on a system relying on a physical folly. Each new component literally ‘corrects’ the faults of its predecessor, and in turn creates a new folly. Through this a chain is created, which could theoretically carry on indefintitely.

House For An Amnesiac and a Cartographer

An amnesiac is guided through his day by the architecture of this structure. The structure limits and guides the amnesiacs movements to a very specific program and set of paths inorder to suit his needs.

The life of the cartographer is integrated into that of the amnesiac’s through program and forced views from room to room. The Cartographer inturn acts as an additional helping hand through studying the amnesiacs movements.

Archive - Emily Dickinson Poems

Through analysis, and emily dickinson poem is broken down into intense and passive portions. These parts are then diagramtically woven together through intense words in passive parts and vice versa. Through this interpretation and attitude of the poem, the archive was designed. It uses the city as its source of intensity, and the enclosing walls as its source ofpasivity, therefore providing two contrasting experiences at the archive; both of which weave, push, and pull into eachother. in turn, differenent degrees of each experience are provided through a multitude of spaces; tall or short, open or tight, narrowness in either the x or the y.

the final floor of the archive opens up in conformity to the city. at its height, the views are shown at grand scale, and yet size varies in accordance to the view. Walls street and upper manhattan are left bare and completely exposed, while the platform acts as a stage.
