EXERCISE 1: SPACE SYRACUSE ARCHITECTURE FALL 2021 [AUG. 31 - SEP. 14]

The process of considering the challenges and advantages of structure and three-dimensional space definition, operating tectonic and stereotomic methods, understanding and demonstrating how to define and describe three-dimensional space. From iterating the physical model of the associative space to understanding and demonstrating how to describe the threedimensional space through orthogonal projection (elevation).

EXERCISE2: FORM SYRACUSE ARCHITECTURE FALL 2021 [SEP. 14 - SEP. 24]

Explore through the production of collage, model, drawing and visualization. The appearance of the building. Conceptualize the three-dimensional form in the iterative process from graphics to open space to solid. From understanding the composition of graphics to understanding space through digital and physical models.

EXERCISE 3: SURFACE SYRACUSE ARCHITECTURE FALL 2021 [OCT. 5 - OCT.18]

Through precedent analysis, physical modeling and hybrid drawing methods, it reflects how the surrounding surface is attributed to the built environment and materials. Begin by critically analyzing the properties of a precedent building material, and study their spatial uses, while developing digital rendering skills. ANALYSE OF BRUDER KLAUS FIELD CHAPEL

THE CRADLE OF LIGHT PAVILION SYRACUSE ARCHITECTURE FALL 2021 [OCT. 19 - NOV.18]

Use the space, form, and surface (material) from the first three exercises. By first analyzing the buildings with common points, learning elements from them, and then designing through the extracted information, the design of the multifunctional Pavilion is finally completed. The Cradle of Light in the military-free zone between North and South Korea, designed for leisure, exhibitions, and conferences. Its design emphasises light, allowing light to enter it like a cradle to create a spiritual space experience for visitors. The concept from White U House’s use of light, the weight of interlocking structures, and metabolism infect the design. Tectonic design logic, which breaks the edges of spaces. This structure grew from the sphere, symbolises the “harmony” in the Eastern culture of yin and yang, and unity between water and light connotes friendship. The light changes with time, but the audience always experiences dialysis, the most sacred element. The atomosphere of decaying and contrast of the inner garden and the outside wilderness includes the relationship between humans and nature. COLLAGE
