The National Leadership Circle (NLC) is the comprehensive leadership annual giving program of the Ahearn Fund, K-State’s National Fund for StudentAthlete Excellence. In appreciation for their annual impact, NLC members are recognized with Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond levels and receive special benefits accordingly. The national brand of K-State Athletics is growing and the Ahearn Fund continues to guide

significant resources to expand this connection so that more can join in this shared vision of success. This level of annual commitment from NLC members helps to fund student-athlete scholarships, increase academic support, enhance sports medicine practices, recruit and retain student-athletes and coaches from all over the world and provide direct funds for capital improvements to the K-State Athletics complex.

AHEARN FUND

MISSION

The unrestricted dollars given by our Ahearn Fund members are the life-blood of K-State Athletics. This commitment has provided us with the flexibility to make investments to all our 16 sports programs. From facility improvements to enhancing travel and recruiting budgets, we are committed to Championship Athletic Performances in the classroom and on the field of play.

It is very clear that Wildcat Nation is one of the most dedicated and supportive fan bases in the country. This high level of support is attributed to many things, but especially private support at a leadership level. Providing our coaches and student-athletes with the necessary resources to compete and win will remain a top priority for us as a department. I am thankful for the Ahearn Fund members at the National Leadership Circle level and their commitment to drive our program forward to win more Big 12 Championships and compete on a national stage. Gene Taylor Athletics Director

NATIONAL LEADERSHIP CIRCLE

BY THE NUMBERS

Since its formation in fall of 2009, the National Leadership Circle (NLC) of the Ahearn Fund has seen considerable growth. Not only has membership increased, but the percentage of dollars contributed annually by NLC members has grown substantially each year. The NLC was established with just over 180 members and since then has seen consistent growth.

Prior to becoming members of the Ahearn Fund NLC, we thought we knew a lot about the work done by the Ahearn Fund and the value of that work to K-State Athletics. But, the creation of the NLC generated greater levels of giving and new opportunities for donors to become much more personally involved in the activities of the Ahearn Fund. We have a much better understanding of the importance of scholarship support and other valuable assistance that the Ahearn Fund provides to our student-athletes. Giving donors a better understanding of the value of their donations and special opportunities to interact with studentathletes provides motivation for donors to increase their support, in time and in treasure. We truly believe that the NLC has become an important part of the foundation of K-State Athletics, and we encourage others to join in the journey. BILL AND CINDY KELLER, Pratt, KS Diamond Level Through our involvement in the National Leadership Circle, we have a much better understanding of K-State Athletics and all that our Student-Athletes go through to be a member of our Athletic teams. Our involvement is vital to our Student-Athletes and the Athletic Programs. Thanks to our membership in the National Leadership Circle, we have a new appreciation for all that the Student-Athletes and Athletic staff do for Kansas State University.. CHARLIE AND REBECCA CLAAR, Manhattan, KS Bronze Level

Supporting our student-athletes is the right thing to do. By joining the NLC, we are confident that our support will assist our studentathletes’ performance in the classroom, in student life and on the field of competition. When our athletes and teams win, we know that the entire university and K-State community wins. JOHN & AMY HUMMER, Las Cruces, NM Bronze Level

Supporting the Ahearn Fund helps to give students the opportunity to grow as athletes and develop life skills that they may not have had the opportunity to do so otherwise. The Ahearn Fund allows for so many student-athletes to live out their dreams. MICHAEL & KAREN PESTINGER, Beloit, KS Silver Level

We recognize that being a student-athlete requires significant dedication and an immense time commitment. We believe that supporting the National Leadership Circle with this investment in the future of K-State Athletics is a great way to show our support and recognize these fine student-athletes for their efforts. ROBERT AND BECCA REICHENBERGER, Denver, CO Bronze Level
