During the 2018 fiscal year, K-State Athletics achieved a balanced budget and surplus for the ninth consecutive year. Thanks to the generosity of donors across the country, the Ahearn Fund set a record for cash gifts designated to the annual giving program. K-State Athletics remains one of eight universities nationwide, and the only institution in Kansas, to operate without use of state tax or university tuition dollars. The grass-roots participation and dedication of Wildcat fans and donors remains the largest source of support for K-State student-athletes.

Annual gifts to the Ahearn Fund provide the resources and support to K-State Athletics that allows the department to compete for Big 12 and national championships. These annual gifts come in a variety of forms including donations for priority seating, parking, Ahearn Excellence and sport-specific giving. Individuals who make annual gifts to the Ahearn Fund receive priority points and are eligible for benefits according to their membership level. Ahearn Fund member benefits are highlighted on page 7. Capital gifts are contributions made outside your annual Ahearn Fund donation and play a pivotal role in the enhancement, construction and maintenance of first-class athletic facilities.

FOOTBALL PARKING The tailgating atmosphere at Bill Snyder Family Stadium is the best in the nation and the Ahearn Fund is proud to offer two parking options to members on game day. Ahearn Fund members with football season ticket donations at the Victory Club level ($1,000) or higher are eligible to purchase a Reserved parking pass. Ahearn Fund members with football season ticket donations at the Royal Purple Club level ($500) or higher are eligible to purchase a VIP parking pass. VIP spaces are located on the East Side of Bill Snyder Family Stadium by the Intercollegiate Rowing Center and operate on a first-come first-serve basis. Due to limited parking around Bill Snyder Family Stadium, parking passes are limited to the number of season tickets on your account (continuous scale): • 1 to 4 season tickets – 1 parking pass • 5 to 8 season tickets – 2 parking passes • 9 to 12 season tickets – 3 parking passes The process to obtain or make a change to a parking pass will take place during the online season ticket and parking selection. CAPSTONE FIELD WALL CAMPAIGN The Capstone Field Wall campaign is a fundraising effort to improve the aesthetics around Wagner Field and enhance the fan experience in Bill Snyder Family Stadium. During the summer of 2017, a contiguous limestone wall was built around the field. In addition, the existing asphalt track was replaced by turf, additional speaker arrays were added to the current sound system and LED video boards were placed along the south end of the field. These updates improved aesthetics and safety, while also raising the level of how we represent Kansas State University in front of nationally-televised audiences, visiting fans and prospective student-athletes. The Capstone Field Wall Campaign gives donors the special opportunity to etch their name in the history of Bill Snyder Family Stadium. AHEARN FUND HOSPITALITY Ahearn Fund Athletic Hospitality (AFAH) is K-State’s hospitality and special events office. AFAH directs, coordinates and supervises all Ahearn Fund and K-State Athletics special events, as well as manages all hospitality efforts for the premium seating areas for football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball. The Ahearn Fund Athletic Hospitality Office also oversees all facility rentals located within K-State Athletics, highlighted by the West Stadium Center at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. These spaces are great for weddings, corporate meetings, staff retreats and board meetings.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS WHY IS IT IMPORTANT THAT I MAKE MY PLEDGE AND SEND IN AT LEAST 25% OF MY 2019-20 CONTRIBUTION BY MARCH 15, 2019? Meeting the March 15, 2019 deadline helps the staff provide the best possible customer service, helps ensure fairness and enables the staff to deliver the fiscal accountability you deserve. By indicating your intent to renew your Ahearn Fund membership by March 15, you guarantee retention of your football seating and parking location, provided you meet the minimum contribution level for the seating and parking area, renew your tickets and pay the balance of your pledge by June 14. March 15 is also the date which Priority Points are calculated for football seating and parking upgrades. Additionally, having pledges in by March 15 helps the department accurately project revenues, which assist with the budgeting process for the coming athletic year. This process begins in March with a completed budget published in late June.
WHY IS MY TOTAL 2019-20 GIFT DUE BY JUNE 14, 2019? To maintain the department’s goal for fiscal responsibility and accountability, it is important that we can accurately project revenue, not only planning, but also for budgeting purposes. The budget process begins in March each year and the books are closed on June 30. Once the fiscal year ends in June, an annual report detailing how your gifts were utilized will be prepared and distributed to all Ahearn Fund members. Of course, you may complete your pledge in full at any time prior to the June 14 deadline.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON’T MAKE MY 2019-20 PLEDGE BY MARCH 15? OR MY TOTAL GIFT BY JUNE 14? It is important to meet deadlines established in this membership guide to ensure that you retain your current seats and parking. If you miss these deadlines, your seats and parking will be placed on our open seating/parking list and if there is a request that matches any open seats, those who have met the deadline will be moved into the open seats and/or parking. This is critical to ensure fair treatment for Ahearn Fund members and season ticket holders and giving those members who meet each deadline the opportunity to improve their seats and/or parking.
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES TO PAYING MY 2019-20 GIFT BY MARCH 15? Points are credited only as dollars are received. Completing your gift by March 15 means that you will get Priority Point credit for the entire amount of the gift, which could improve your seats and/or parking. Points will be calculated on March 15 and those totals will be used for football seating and parking upgrades. Points calculated on June 14 will be used for men’s and women’s basketball requests.
CAN I PAY MY 2019-20 AHEARN FUND GIFT IN INSTALLMENTS? Yes, you can make monthly payments toward your Ahearn Fund pledge. Equal monthly payments can be charged to your credit card on the date you specify. An important note if you are setting up a monthly payment schedule for the first time: please make sure that 25% of the priority seating donation is paid by March 15 and the balance is paid by June 14. We will work to accommodate your requests in regards to your payment schedules.
CAN I JOIN THE AHEARN FUND IF I DON’T HAVE SEASON TICKETS? Yes, the Ahearn Fund is K-State’s National Fund for Student-Athlete Excellence. As a member of the Ahearn Fund, you join thousands of other K-Staters who collectively contribute to excellence at K-State. Your support provides the resources necessary to provide academic support services, sport specific equipment, sports medicine, nutritional guidance, strength and conditioning and travel for our student-athletes.
HOW CAN I ADD OR IMPROVE MY PARKING SPOT AT BILL SNYDER FAMILY STADIUM? The process to obtain or make a change to a parking pass will take place during the online season ticket and parking selection. At the date and time emailed to you based on your Ahearn Fund Priority Point ranking, Ahearn Fund donors will have the opportunity to select from available parking passes. After moving through the seat selection process, you will be prompted to choose an available parking stall. If an additional Ahearn Fund donation is required, you will be contacted by the Ahearn Fund office and that donation will be manually added to your account.
