O Estado do Piauí se encontra localizado perto de importantes portos: Porto do Pecém (CE), distância de 788 km e Porto de Suape (PE), distância de 1.090,2 Km. E, ainda, conta com o Projeto de Implantação e Operação do Porto de Luís Correia.

A Malha Viária do Estado apresenta soluções de integração para as principais rotas de escoamento da produção, além de obras estruturantes em andamento.

A bacia hidrográfica do Piauí conta com o rio Parnaíba e com alguns de seus afluentes, entre eles o Uruçuí Preto e o Gurgueia, que, somando-se seus cursos permanentes, ultrapassam 2.600 km de extensão.

O Estado conta ainda com lagoas de notável expressão, tais como a de Parnaguá, Buriti e Cajueiro, que vêm sendo aproveitadas em projetos de irrigação e abastecimento de água na região.

Hydrography The watershed area of Piaui holds the Parnaiba River and some of its tributaries, including the Uruçuí Preto and Gurgueia, which, considering their permanent courses, exceeds 2600 km of extension.

The state has also remarkable lagoons, such as the Parnaguá, Buritiand Cajueiro, used in irrigation projects and for water supply in the region.
