“Serenity Village” is a mentalhealth residential treatment and rehabilitation center that combines intensive and therapeutic care that caters to transitional recovery from individual therapy to community involvement and self-reliance. Serenity Village aims to create an architecture that fosters healing, offering a path to new beginnings through a user-centric and site-responsive approach. This project aims to showcase how architecture does not just serve as structural covering but as a healing tool toward a pristine state of mind.

The architectural design is inspired by SANAA’s architectural design and minimalistic approach toward their projects, which facilitates freedom and meticulous articulation and importance of mass and void to create spaces that establish transparency, fluidity, and tranquility.

SMILE 202

Smile x Oncology Pediatric Ward Project

Instructor: Ms. Afaf Ibrahim

Group Work | October 2021-September 2022

Smile 202 is a collaborative project between Smile Initiative and student volunteers of the Department of Architecture and Interior Design. The goal of this project is to remodel the Yousif Khalil Al Moayyed Nephrology and Kidney Transplant Center’s existing oncology pediatric unit. We redesigned the ward with colorful and playful design elements to thrive the imagination and playfulness of the youth while selecting construction materials and articulating spaces throughout the ward, with the wellbeing, health, and environment of the young patients as our top priority.

Our group was divided into three groups covering one zone each. I and my colleague, Nathalie Dalupang, were assigned to do the Day Case Room and Two patient rooms of a chosen theme we call as “Tree Room.”

MANAMA CENTRAL MARKET

Architectural Design VII: Central Market

Instructor: Prof. Islam Alghonaimy

Individual Work | First Semester | A.Y. 2023-2024

The Manama Central Market is a revamped version of the old central market located in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain. Its goal is to become a significant landmark in Bahrain, showcasing both tangible and intangible heritage. The market comprises various sections, including the Fruits and Vegetables Market, Gardeners' Market, Spices and Delicacies Market, Gourmet Market, Artisan's Market, Food Halls, Children's Activity Center, and a bookstore and souvenir shop.

Inspired by street markets, the design concept of the Manama Central Market aims to create an interior space that mimics the vibrant atmosphere of an outdoor market while prioritizing the safety and comfort of consumers. By incorporating elements resonating from a street market, the market provides a unique and inviting environment for visitors to explore and engage with a diverse range of products.

Interior Design for Architects (ARCG328)

Design Studio

Penthouses are apartments with remarkable grandeur with views of the surrounding environment that are often on the top levels of a residential building. For our term project, we are tasked with designing a penthouse for a celebrity of our choice and selecting the best interior design style for him/her/them. The design solution should reflect a thorough understanding of the celebrities wants and preferences as determined by research through interviews, news articles, and other ways to know more about the celebrity.

My chosen celebrity is Jessica Jung (born Jung Sooyeon), a Korean-American celebrity who rose to fame from being a former member of Girls’ Generation and is

Her design preferences range from modern to traditional/ classical design, hence I have chosen a transitional interior design style for her penthouse.

Academic Work 06

Landscape Architecture (ARCG424)

Term Project Samia B.M., Marya Masood Ali, Hina Saman, and Fatima Hasan

The primary focus of this project is to enhance the landscape design of Block 338 to increase green spaces, plant trees, support walkability and pedestrianization, provide opportunities for outdoor leisure activities, enhance building facades, and encourage outdoor activities.

The design aims to create a pedestrian-only public space again by using a bright, bohemian-inspired color scheme for the pavement, adding vehicle barriers, and planting lots of lush plants all over the area. This makes the block more walkable and encourages outdoor leisure activities, which breathes back life into the existing cityscape.
