ECO-LIVING
In alignment with the burgeoning trend towards ecohousing, off-grid living, and sustainable lifestyles, tiny homes represent an unequivocal solution for Ariki Estate This movement is gaining momentum as more individuals seek alternatives to conventional housing, yearning for a lifestyle harmonized with nature Within our estate, we've allocated a secluded area nestled within a valley, shielded from the road, where we've demarcated 22 garden plots for individuals to inhabit with their ideal tiny homes The envisioned village encompasses communal spaces, a community garden, and an abundance of fruit, nut trees, and native flora intricately woven into the landscape
Our commitment extends beyond mere habitation; we prioritise self-sufficiency through innovative waste
management systems, off-grid power solutions like solar and wind energy, and water collection from our bore and stream Our aim is to uphold a high quality of life while fostering sustainability Our vision extends to creating a harmonious community where people of all ages children, animals, parents, and grandparents coexist, supporting each other's lifestyles and aspirations
Realizing this ambitious project necessitates the collaboration of pioneering and visionary groups Together, we aim to showcase a pathway back to communal living, integrating technology, well-researched holistic farming practices for food security, relationship dynamics, conflict resolution, and sound financial and business principles
Through collective efforts, we seek to ground and establish our eco-village, turning vision into reality

ECO-VILLAGE
SUSTAINABLE GARDEN SITES WHERE COMMUNITY BECOMES KAITIAKI OF THE WHENUA
THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS WASTE, JUST STUFF IN THE WRONG PLACE
As each season brings forth new crops, our increasingly successful market garden demonstrates the suitability of the Kaipara for growing food Our onfarm organic vegetable subscription is going from strength to strength as residents experience the every day benefits of direct farm-to-table supply chain Visitors enjoy the opportunity to taste Ariki produce at community events, or purchased from our market stall during the festivals.
Table-to-farm efforts involve adopting appropriate techniques and technology applied to site-wide resource flows and waste management systems. We have great working examples of how grey and black water can be returned to the Earth, alongside humanure and other valuable waste streams

FARM LIFE
MARKET GARDENS
OUR EXPANSIVE MULTI-HECTARE ORGANIC FRUIT AND VEGETABLE GARDENS WILL SERVE AS BOTH A REVENUE SOURCE AND A VITAL NOURISHMENT HUB FOR THE ARIKI COMMUNITY THE PRODUCE FROM THESE GARDENS WILL SUPPLY OUR FUTURE FARM-TO-TABLE CAFÉ, FACILITATE THE CREATION OF DELIVERED FOOD BOXES, AND CONTRIBUTE TO OUR WEEKEND MARKETS
THE RIPPLE EFFECT
Ariki, alongside the neighbouring farm Tumanko Hope, boasts council approval for hosting three multi-day festivals annually, currently these are organised by NZ Spirit Events, owed by Franko Heke one of the directors of Ariki Estate
This strategic collaboration grants Ariki access to a vast community of over 37,000 eco-conscious individuals nationwide During these festivals, which draw crowds of up to 4000 attendees twice a year, Ariki investors have the opportunity to generate income through various avenues such as artisan stalls, food trucks, temporary accomodation and festival venue rentals.
Furthermore, Ariki hosts smaller-scale tree planting festival called Re-generate, helping plant thousands of trees in a fun
way There are plans to diversify offerings, positioning Ariki as an ideal venue for weddings and other purpose-driven events, thus enhancing revenue streams from the land
Distinguished as a pioneering initiative in New Zealand, Ariki has garnered attention from influential figures like Suzy and James Cameron, the renowned producer of the Avatar movies, who are investing in a documentary to showcase the entirety of the project
