For only the third time this century, the International Horticultural Exhibition, Floriade returns in 2022! Celebrate all things green on this one-of-a-kind break to the Netherlands, offering the opportunity to witness a stunning display of plants and flowers from across the world nestled in gorgeous fairytale gardens and a grand greenhouse network. With a trip also included to explore the beautiful spring garden of Keukenhof and its vast array of colourful bulbs, this is the ultimate experience for all those with a love of things that grow. ITINERARY
THE NETHERLANDS
Day 1 Ferry to Calais and on to our hotel in the Netherlands, stopping en-route for dinner (not included).
BELGIUM
Day 2 Floriade Expo 2022 After breakfast, we travel to the celebrated Floriade Expo 2022. Taking place once every ten years, this unique exhibition hosts botanical displays from across 40 countries so there will be plenty to see and do. For the first time, the Expo will relocate from Venlo to Almere and once the festival concludes, the site will become a new urban district named Hortus - a great example of the theme of the 2022 show, “Growing Green Cities”. See the stunning array of flowers and walk through the alphabetically organised “tree and plant encyclopaedia” in the arboretum, all in one spectacular location! We stop for dinner en-route back to the hotel (not included). Day 3 Keukenhof Gardens We take a trip to the beautiful Keukenhof Gardens with their incredible floral displays and manicured parkland. Across the 32-acre extent of the world’s largest bulb flower park, visitors are treated to a breathtaking showcase of colour with over seven million bulbs blooming in the spring including brightly-hued tulips, hyacinths and daffodils! Later, we stop for dinner en-route back to the hotel (not included). Day 4 Travel back to Calais for our return ferry home.
