With our best wishes,
Camilla Chevillot & Nikko Karki Editors, JUP Magazine Founders, JUP Coldwell Banker
The conservation of natural landscapes gives Jupiter a distinct feel when compared to other areas of South Florida. Instead of sprawling concrete, we have natural dunes that tumble into ocean surf. We have parks, with long stretches of beach with no development. The air is fresher here, and with water access in abundance, it's the ideal home for enjoying an active lifestyle on and near the water.
Jupiter is something special. It isn’t just a location. It's a lifestyle. It's a place where nature and laid-back luxury effortlessly meet. Where the coast winds past areas of outstanding natural beauty, past exclusive neighborhoods and world-class amenities, past boating havens and golf greens. Where families, professionals and those searching for the good life can find a place to call home – one that still retains an air of a hidden gem despite ticking all the boxes. Here, the water is clearer and life is sweeter.
For a place so special, Jupiter still largely flies under the radar. The upshot? Waterfront real estate is still priced under neighboring areas. A key part of what makes Jupiter such a beautiful place to live is the limited amount of property available here. The land has already been carefully developed – no empty plots or available spaces remain for the city to be overrun with expansion.
Compared to most neighboring Florida cities, Jupiter benefits from a low density, and as such, a strong sense of community. Ultimately, the uniqueness of the area and the scarcity of property contributes to the long-term value in Jupiter real estate.
With limited construction, the air is genuinely fresher. Just one deep breath can do wonders. But Jupiter is also home to a burgeoning wellness scene. From elite golf courses built to sit lightly on the natural landscape to exquisite restaurants where menus are crafted around seasonal, healthy food. From kayaking quiet waters, connecting with the ocean to simply digging your toes in the sand after a day at work. Jupiter has something for everyone looking to soak up all of nature’s bounty. It is almost impossible to convey the natural beauty of the area in words. It has to be seen – to be lived – to be believed.
Many new residents are surprised by the wildlife you can encounter in Jupiter – right on your doorstep. Turtles, manatees, dolphins, bobcats, eagles, deer … the list goes on. With countless parks, biking and hiking trails, pristine beaches and swathes of greenery popping out at every corner, Jupiter is the epitome of living in harmony with nature. No matter what stage of life you are in, you’ll find the perfect property and a place to call home.
Whether you are independent professionals looking for somewhere to elevate your lifestyle, a family searching for somewhere safe and significant to establish meaningful roots, or at a stage in life where you want a convenient and luxurious community to fill your hours with the best of life, you’ll find it in Jupiter. With a plethora of parks, playgrounds and great schools, raising a family here is a breeze. Boaters, adventurers, nature-lovers and golfers will be in heaven. And even those looking for a bit of urban buzz will find vibrant, world-class restaurants and amenities on your doorstep. You really can tick all the boxes in Jupiter.
If you are looking for a place to call home that promises an authentic connection with nature, world class amenities on your doorstep, and high end properties, Jupiter is your answer. Here is a rare community that effortlessly combines untouched natural beauty and sophisticated living. Whether you are a boating enthusiast searching for exceptional waterfront real estate, or a family ready for a nurturing home where you can thrive, Jupiter’s unique selection of neighborhoods has something for everyone. From the tranquility of Jupiter Island to the Town of Jupiter’s vibrant social scene, let JUP take you on a tour of Jupiter’s distinct residential neighborhoods.
Blending city life with ocean ease, the town of Jupiter has something for all stages of life. Stretching four miles between intracoastal waterways and the Atlantic, it was once named one of the 10 Happiest Seaside Towns in the USA by Coastal Living magazine and is especially attractive to those who enjoy the beach and boating lifestyle. We love how the town’s strategic planning prioritizes environmental stewardship alongside first class amenities. Expect to encounter carefully preserved sand dunes, light-controlled beachfronts that cater to nesting sea turtles, and an abundance of lush, green parks perfect for family outings. Real estate blends in gently with the landscape here, each property a place to celebrate the natural beauty it is surrounded by.
The Town of Jupiter offers residents ample opportunities for enjoying the inlet and beaches. DUBOIS PARK & JUPITER'S A1A
You’ll find the peaceful Jupiter Inlet Colony on the southernmost tip of Jupiter Island. With only one way in and one way out – via the town’s own police station – residents enjoy a safe, secluded and idyllic way of life. There are just 245 homes here – and many have been owned by the same families for more than a generation. This means that this small community is slightly more densely populated than the sprawling estates on neighboring Jupiter Island. But the effect is scarcity, which has an impact on the desirability of the homes for their proximity to town, and the community lifestyle. From traditional Floridian ranch-style homes to luxurious waterfront estates on oversized lots, there is an incredible variety of property and architectural styles on Jupiter Inlet Colony. Whatever the vibe you are after, homes all offer a piece of paradise. Windows open onto breathtaking vistas of the Intracoastal, the iconic Jupiter Lighthouse, or the Atlantic Ocean.
It makes sense that the north entrance to Jupiter Island is lined with Banyan trees. It sets the stage for a community that is deeply committed to environmental conservation – something that makes this a truly special place to live. The Nature Conservancy oversees a significant expanse of beach here, preserving the natural dunes and habitats. Real estate in this neighborhood is wonderfully diverse. Architectural styles go from traditional to contemporary – nothing is cookie cutter. And homes benefit hugely from the preservation focus of the area. Homes are surrounded by lush vegetation, tranquil waterways, and the wildlife that calls this island home. Here, residents enjoy the ultimate balance of seclusion and accessibility. It's just 15 minutes from the private tranquility of the island to the vibrant neighboring areas of the town of Jupiter and Tequesta.
Rich history, authentic small-town spirit and stunning natural surroundings. Tequesta is a desirable neighborhood with soul. The peaceful residential streets wind charmingly through tall palm trees and lush green spaces. Here, you’ll find a wonderfully close-knit community, where neighbors greet each other by name. There is a welcoming and authentic vibe here, which we love, and know you will too. While the residents here range from young families to retirees, the combination of nearby beaches, playgrounds, great schools, as well as shopping centers and restaurants makes Tequesta a wonderful place to settle down and raise a family in the Sunshine State. Plus it is an ideally positioned neighborhood: almost everything you need is within a short drive. From your morning yoga class to coffee dates to school drop offs and grocery shopping, daily life is on your doorstep.
JUPITER ISLAND SERENITY
One of the most wonderful things about Jupiter is not just its evident natural beauty but its unique commitment to environmental preservation. We love how Jupiter offers a matchless mosaic of nature preserves and ecological initiatives.

Each park tells a story of conservation, showcasing the diverse and thriving ecosystems that are unique to South Florida. They are vital parts of Jupiter's ecosystem and heritage, offering endless opportunities for exploration, education, or just soaking in the beautiful surroundings.
The nature preserves in and around Jupiter contribute significantly to the quality of life in the area. It is what makes the homes here extra special. Beyond the obvious recreational opportunities these natural reserves offer, they act as natural filters, purifying the air and water and fostering a healthier environment for residents. The abundance of green spaces also contributes to a sense of well-being and community, promoting outdoor activities and a more active lifestyle.
There are so many special natural areas in Jupiter, it would take way more than this issue of JUP magazine to cover them all as they deserve.
There is the Loxahatchee River Natural Area, a sprawling preserve that encapsulates the essence of Florida's diverse ecosystems. This sanctuary is a haven for nature enthusiasts and those seeking a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of urban life. The Loxahatchee River, Florida's first federally designated Wild and Scenic River, winds its way through this pristine landscape, providing a habitat for an array of wildlife, including manatees, alligators, and a myriad of bird species.
There is also Riverbend Park, an integral part of the Loxahatchee River Natural Area. With its extensive trail system, this park invites individuals to immerse themselves in the breathtaking beauty of Florida's wetlands, cypress swamps, and pine flatwoods. The experience is not just recreational; it fosters a deep connection with nature, instilling a sense of responsibility for its preservation.
Jonathan Dickinson State Park is another jewel in Jupiter's ecological crown, offering residents and visitors alike a chance to explore Florida's unique flora and fauna. With its diverse ecosystems, from sand pine scrub to mangrove forests, the park provides a living classroom for those eager to learn about the region's natural heritage. Hiking, biking, and kayaking trails allow individuals to engage with the environment actively, fostering a sense of appreciation for the delicate balance of ecosystems.
Jupiter's commitment to environmental conservation extends to the Juno Dunes Natural Area, a coastal preserve that showcases the town's dedication to preserving its pristine shorelines. The undulating dunes, a critical part of Florida's coastal ecosystem, serve as a natural barrier against storm surges and support a variety of plant and animal life. Residents benefit not only from the aesthetic appeal of the preserved dunes but also from the enhanced environmental resilience they provide to the community.
Residents in Jupiter are not just coexisting with nature; they are actively engaged in its preservation, fostering a harmonious relationship that enhances both the ecological health of the area and the quality of life for those who call Jupiter home. As other communities grapple with the challenges of urbanization and environmental degradation, Jupiter stands as a shining example of how a commitment to preserving nature can create a haven of unparalleled beauty and sustainability for long-term quality of life. -AA
Follow us on a visual journey through the Top 5 Nature Preserves in Jupiter, each a gateway to the wonders of the natural world and still conveniently located near our thriving neighborhoods.
Past the shoreline, Blowing Rocks is a sanctuary for wildlife and native plants. As you follow its paths, you may spot sea turtles nesting on the beach or catch a glimpse of migrating birds. The preserve, managed by The Nature Conservancy, is an ideal spot for nature photography, offering a stunning backdrop of the ocean meeting the rocky shore. Every visit has the potential to reveal something new, whether it’s the changing tides or the seasonal shifts in the landscape.
Beyond Jonathan Dickinson is a microcosm of Florida’s natural diversity. It’s home to a variety of ecosystems, from pine flatwoods to mangrove swamps. The park’s rich history, including remnants of the past like the old Trapper Nelson homestead, adds a layer of intrigue to its natural beauty. For those seeking a deeper connection with nature, the park offers guided tours and educational programs, making it one of our favorite family spots.
DuBois Park isn’t just about the scenic views – it’s also rich in history and culture. The park’s namesake, the DuBois Pioneer Home, stands as a testament to the area’s important heritage. With its calm swimming lagoon and snorkeling opportunities, the park is a perfect spot for water lovers of all ages. The sheltered picnic areas, complete with grills and tables, make it a great spot for weekend family outings.
The tranquil beaches of Hobe Sound are just the beginning. This preserve is a crucial habitat for native wildlife, including endangered species. The dunes and woodlands offer a peaceful retreat for nature walks, where the whispering pines and the ocean breeze create a symphony of natural sounds. We love it here. Even better? If you want a deeper understanding of the area’s ecology, the preserve often hosts educational walks and talks, led by local experts.
Riverbend Park is not only a natural playground but also a wonderful journey through history. The park’s ancient Native American burial mounds and historical landmarks, such as the Loxahatchee River Battlefield, offer a glimpse into Florida’s past. The park’s diverse terrain, from riverbanks to pine flatwoods, supports an array of wildlife, including deer, otters, and a variety of bird species.

"As an island chain, Indonesia is about as long as it is from LA to New York. There's plenty to explore."
Uluwatu Estate and Dunia Baru Yacht
BY NIKKO KARKI
These days you’ll most often find me visiting properties for clients in Jupiter, flying my drone to capture homes from the sky, or taking long walks at Blowing Rocks –Camilla and I also lived in Indonesia for many years. I still work as a yacht broker on projects around the world – albeit now from my home in Jupiter. My time living on the island of Bali means I’ve had the privilege of experiencing Indonesia’s mesmerizing archipelago, discovering its hidden treasures and unspoiled beauty. There is certainly enough natural beauty in Florida to keep you exploring forever … but for those seeking adventure further afield, I wanted to share a trip outline for what I consider a bucket list getaway in Indonesia.
This is not just a trip; it’s more of a rite of passage that will quite possibly leave you wanting to keep exploring more of SE Asia.
You’ve arrived in Bali! You’ve traveled half-way across the world – so what is first on the itinerary? Relaxing, of course. The only way to begin your Indonesian odyssey is with a week at the breathtaking Uluwatu Estate. Perched on a cliffside, this tropical paradise offers spectacular views of Nyang Nyang Beach and the Indian Ocean. Its open-air interiors blend modern luxury with traditional Balinese style, creating an oasis of tranquility and beauty.
The complete escape.
Each of the eight suites in the estate is a haven: luxurious, comfortable, entirely private and peaceful. The infinity pool merges seamlessly with the ocean, providing an illusion of swimming in the vast sea itself. The private spa within the estate is the epitome of relaxation, promising rejuvenation before your seafaring adventure.
After a week of relaxation at the Uluwatu Estate, it’s time to embark on an exhilarating journey aboard the renowned 154-foot sailing yacht, Dunia Baru. This magnificent vessel, a blend of traditional Indonesian phinisi design and modern superyacht luxury, is your gateway to the islands of Indonesia.
Onboard Dunia Baru , you will experience a unique combination of adventure and elegance. The yacht’s experienced and friendly crew are trained to the highest standards, ready to ensure your journey is as comfortable as it is adventurous. Life at sea has never been so comfortable. This award-winning yacht features sumptuous cabins and lounge areas on deck where you can watch the world go by with a cocktail in hand. Every inch of Dunia Baru has been handcrafted for sea-worthy sophistication – you won’t find another yacht like her.
I know the word ‘safari’ typically conjures up visions of dusty Land Rovers, dirt roads, lions, elephants and herds of antelopes. But imagine the Land Rover was actually a luxury yacht, the dirt roads were turquoise seas, and the wildlife included Komodo dragons, flying foxes, schools of manta rays and pods of dolphins. Welcome to a yacht safari with Dunia Baru
Birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts will find the dragon hikes in Komodo a paradise, with exciting diving and secluded beaches for private setups straight out of a magazine. Each day brings a new adventure, from exhilarating dives to wildlife sightings from the comfort and privacy of your yacht. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery, on land or under the water, and then sail to the next secret spot. Total privacy and exclusivity guaranteed. All you take with you is incredible memories.
This escape is the ultimate introduction to Indonesia. As someone who has sailed the islands for many years, I am always excited when I can help someone experience it for the first time. For anyone looking for something special, this itinerary is hard to beat. Combining the serene luxury of Uluwatu Estate with the adventurous spirit of Dunia Baru , it becomes more than just a holiday. It’s about embracing the unknown and finding joy in the remote corners of the world and when you come home, feeling like you experienced something truly magical. -NK

At JUP, we know that a life well-lived is not just about physical objects; it's about the experience, the company one keeps, and the memories shared. A Feadship yacht epitomizes this philosophy. A platform for escape and adventure, for privacy and quality time, a Feadship is an expression of freedom like no other.
Among the renowned Dutch shipyard's impressive fleet, the new 120-foot (36.5-meter) Bahamas Cruiser concept emerges as a standout choice for those looking to enjoy life on the water. Especially designed for short trips and coastal cruising, as her name suggests, she is right at home exploring the tropical archipelago of the Bahamas, just a hop, skip and jump from Jupiter.
Embodying the idea of a 'home on the water', the Bahamas Cruiser is so much more than a mode of transport, or even just a floating asset. Customized comfort, flexibility, and sophisticated living are at its core, offering a relaxing way to escape daily life and explore new horizons on short breaks.
"For me, this new concept is the perfect example of a yacht designed for our area," says Nikko. "With this Feadship, you can make the most of the incredible cruising grounds that are right on Jupiter’s doorstep in complete comfort. It's just the right size to do it all."
Spending time with family and friends is at the heart of the Bahamas Cruiser. She can accommodate 10 guests across five spacious cabins, including a main deck owner’s suite with en suite facilities and a private lounging area. The design team recognized that the relaxed living style of the
Bahamas may reflect how owners and guests enjoy time together, with an open, family-style galley with a breakfast bar for intimate meals together throughout their vacation – a contrast to the more formal dining set-ups often found on yachts.
The Bahamas Cruiser has a draft of just six feet, making it perfect for navigating shallow waters. While it is tailored for the pristine beauty of the Bahamas, its adaptability extends to the Intracoastal Waterways of Florida and can be berthed in front of a waterfront property.
“It's perfect for a family in Jupiter,” explains Nikko. “You can venture down into the Bahamas, go to St. Barths or just have it to cruise around the incredible Floridian coastline." With a range of 3,000 nautical miles at 10 knots, this yacht offers the freedom to explore. The Bahamas Cruiser adheres
unwaveringly to Feadship's renowned standards of excellence. “Building a Feadship yacht is akin to creating a floating home, one that reflects your tastes, lifestyle, and aspirations. The result is not just a yacht, but a personal haven, a go-anywhere home on the water,” explains Nikko. -RR
Get in touch with JUP to discuss the Feadship Bahamas Cruiser, or any other Feadship in more detail. We're always happy to arrange viewings or offer a snapshot of the market.

Adventure awaits those who seek it. Whether that is close to home in Jupiter, or further afield. One of the most unforgettable ways to journey beyond the ordinary and expand your horizons is on board a superyacht. Complete privacy, unmatched luxury, first-class service, brand new vistas every day, and itineraries planned entirely around your preferences.
From the azure waters of the Maldives to the remote reaches of the South Pacific, Nikko draws on his years of experience as a yacht broker to handpick three of his favorite yachts for globetrotting adventures with your friends and loved ones.
With a 9000-mile range and toy box designed with fishing and surfing in mind, Galileo is one of the most sought-after superyachts in the world when it comes to action and adventure. " Galileo has been one of my favorite yachts for many years,” says Nikko. “Few yachts can match it for longrange cruising, diving, and exploration trips. She is incredible.”
GALILEO 55M (180')
Based in Southeast Asia, Galileo is the ideal for surf exploration, spearfishing, and cruising long distances in absolute comfort.
Galileo’s intrepid credentials make her an exceptional charter choice for an active group looking to venture off the beaten path. “She’s currently available in the Maldives and I can’t imagine a better place to explore with her captain and crew,” says Nikko. “You could also cruise to the Arctic Circle, venture through the South Pacific, and go out to Fiji and French Polynesia. She really can get you anywhere in the world in total comfort. A true explorer yacht.”
Sleeping 12 guests in five ensuite cabins, with further accommodation for a crew of 11, Galileo is in spectacular condition following a 2023 refit.
Sassa La Mare
Exploring the hidden gems of Europe by superyacht is hard to beat, and Italy by yacht is particularly special. Anchoring off of secluded beaches, watching the world go by from exclusive marinas, wandering cobbled streets, dining at renowned spots. Truly la dolce vita . And what better way to discover the incredible sights of Italy than on board the beautiful Sassa La Mare ? “When you step on board, it feels like you're home from the moment you arrive,” says
Nikko. “She has the same ambiance as a modern luxury hotel – open, spacious, bright, and forward-thinking in terms of her design and layout. I especially love this yacht for families who want to spend quality time together.”
Sassa La Mare is one of the best ways to experience all that rich culture, history, and cuisine that Italy has to offer.
“If you want a fun charter in Europe this year, I recommend taking a look at Sassa La Mare,” says Nikko. She is ready available to set sail to the yachting havens of Sardinia and Naples, as well as further afield in the Mediterranean.
A charter choice that boasts both an extraordinary design and incredible pedigree, Sea Eagle is the world’s largest aluminum sailing yacht. Beyond her head-turning aesthetics, her high performance means that she can reach up to 22 knots. “ Sea Eagle’s schedule takes her to some of the most beautiful and remote places in the world,” says Nikko. “She is a marvel of technology and engineering,
with the ability to circumnavigate with ease. For a group looking for the absolute best, this is it." Sea Eagle’s scuba diving and adventure equipment are all ready and waiting to explore anywhere from the South Pacific to the Caribbean. She can host 12 guests across her six cabins. Sailors will be living the dream, hoisting her magnificent sails with the crew and chasing the wind in far-off havens. -RR
Not a sailor? Not a problem. You will be captivated by the yacht’s power and grace as the crew expertly handle every detail. Nothing comes close to the thrill of gliding across the ocean powered only by the wind.
BY CAMILLA CHEVILLOT
Manta rays, rainforest hikes, Komodo dragons, wooden sailing yachts – don’t get me wrong, Nikko’s adventures abroad and sailing the seven seas is all sorts of wonderful. But have you ever experienced the sheer joy of a Jupiter summer? For me, it's hard to beat. Consider this my argument for a holiday closer to home …
When your home surroundings are already so beautiful –as they are for us in Jupiter – it can be just as rewarding to skip the long-haul journeys and explore what is on your doorstep. And what a doorstep we have here. From pristine beaches to wild nature preserves, from varied coastlines to historic landmarks, Jupiter and its surrounds have it all.
Let’s kick this off with the ocean. If you’ve been lucky enough to be in Jupiter during summer, you’ll know how our seas transform into a spectacular, flat, warm oasis. It’s like Mother Nature herself laid out the red carpet – only, in this case, it’s a brilliant blue, and it rolls gently with the tide. As a self-confessed mermaid, I can’t resist the call. Give me a day of dancing with gentle waves over navigating international travel any day.
Have you ever experienced that perfect summer day when the sun’s rays seem to recharge your batteries, making you feel like a superhero powered by solar energy? Can you relate to that feeling of no day too hot, no sun too bright? If you nodded yes, then my friend, you’re beginning to understand Jupiter’s summer magic.
While hubby dreams of hoisting the sails in far away lands, I remind him of the beauty of our own backyard, minus the crowds. Jupiter in summer turns into this idyllic town where traffic lights seem redundant, and dinner reservations are as necessary as a snowplow in Florida. Shopping, beach walks, or simply driving down A1A – it’s an uncrowded, serene paradise. It is possible to find true bliss in Jupiter’s unique summer tranquility. Lazy days, the kids living their best lives at surf camp, warm evenings alfresco watching the sunset in our own backyard.
But what if we could have the best of both worlds? Isn’t compromise the key to a happy marriage? And what if the compromise was a summer full of new adventures and vistas, as well as unrushed time to experience familiar and favorite spots in a new light? Picture this then: a serene June in Jupiter, when the weather is perfect, the ocean water is warm and the beaches are secluded. Follow this with a jet-set July in the Mediterranean or Indonesia –exploring and soaking in new cultures. And round it all off with a relaxing return to Florida in August, winding down, reminiscing on a summer well-spent and prepping for the upcoming school year. Now, that might just be the epitome of summer perfection. -CC

BY ANGELA AUDRETSCH
Adventurers at heart, Camilla and Nikko, founders of JUP, have explored the world together. From Indonesia and St. Maarten to Switzerland and Finland, their paths eventually wound their way to beautiful Jupiter, Florida, where they have planted deep roots and are raising their two daughters. The couple established JUP knowing they could offer a more personal and discreet way of serving real estate clients in Jupiter, while sharing their personal passion for the area and the properties here. We sit down with them to learn more.
Why did you choose Jupiter as your home?
CAMILLA: The combination of the ocean, the preserved nature, the restaurant scene, and most of all – the people. It’s an amazing place to raise kids. We know what matters to families living here; we understand the importance of short commutes, quality schools, and a safe environment for children.
NIKKO : We spent 11 wonderful years in Indonesia, but with kids, the timing felt right to come home to Florida. My grandparents built homes in Lake Worth and Lantana. My mom
was raised here. I liked the idea of raising our daughters here with an American upbringing and still close to nature.
inspired you to create JUP?
CAMILLA: Our love for the area. We genuinely believe that Jupiter has everything. From beaches to boating and the most beautiful intracoastal waterway, it is hard to find a reason to leave. We love raising our kids here, and saw an opportunity to share our passion for the area and real estate expertise with other people who are looking for a similar lifestyle.
NIKKO: My background is in real estate development, so it was a natural progression to create a brand specifically for Jupiter.
With JUP, I also bring what I have learned as a yacht broker and apply the same level of personalized, concierge service to the real estate world. When you're representing a superyacht, every person who comes on board should be treated like a VIP. There was a gap in the market for this kind of service for home sales in Jupiter, so we knew we had to start JUP.
"There's nothing more exciting than being part of someone's dream project."
Where is your favorite place in Jupiter and why?
CAMILLA: There are so many. The inlet is a magical place. To see the currents as the tides change is captivating. Up the Indian River at high tide, you get this bright turquoise water and there is so much wildlife from fish, turtles, and manatees.
NIKKO : For me, it’s the Blowing Rocks preserve. We love to go for long walks there and once you are far enough up the beach you can’t see any signs of human development. It’s very special to have a protected area like that on Florida’s natural coastline.
What do you love most about your work?
NIKKO: There’s nothing more exciting than being part of someone’s
dream project. Whether beachfront or a home with a dock, it’s invigorating to help clients imagine all the possibilities that exist in Jupiter.
CAMILLA : I love showing people the beauty of the area and watching them fall in love with it, just like I did.
What is your most memorable experience in Jupiter?
CAMILLA: I just love how quiet and serene it is during the summer months.
NIKKO : One morning, seeing two gigantic loggerhead turtles playing in the ocean after laying their eggs at Blowing Rocks. To see the turtle populations so healthy here is a powerful reminder of why conservation is so important.
Looking beyond Jupiter, any favorite destinations?
CAMILLA: Nikko and I took a trip to West Papua, Indonesia on a beautiful wooden boat. We spent days there swimming with whale sharks. It had been on my bucket list for years and still it exceeded my expectations. Being in the presence of those gentle giants really humbles you. We actually look at a similar Indonesian sailing trip earlier in the magazine.
NIKKO : The whale shark trip was epic, but for me, it's Sardinia. I feel young and full of life there. The Mediterranean sea, the food –alongside Jupiter, it's my other happy place.
What does your perfect day off look like?
CAMILLA: A morning family bike ride, a stroll down in Palm Beach, fishing off the Jupiter Inlet with the kids, dinner at 1000 North.
NIKKO : Morning tee time with good friends, afternoon surf session with the kids that rolls into sunset drinks and grilling some steaks.
What are your top tips for real estate in Jupiter?
CAMILLA: If you’re looking to purchase or sell a home, you need to make sure that you have the right advisors who have your best interests at heart. You need a team you can trust to be there for you. I call Nikko “the problem solver” as he truly cares for his clients; sometimes they call him in the middle of the night to fix something and he just does it. It’s in his nature.
NIKKO : Over time, the natural protected areas and urban planning in Jupiter will make the area even more desirable. Even if the rest of Florida continues to develop, Jupiter will likely retain a low density. If you value open spaces and beautiful nature, Jupiter is hard to beat.
Is there a piece of advice that you once received that has always stuck with you?
CAMILLA: For me, it’s that everything works out as it should; trust the process.
NIKKO : I once heard that people rarely remember what you do, but always remember how you made them feel. I always come back to this.
CAMILLA: I like to cook and tune out the world around me. There is nothing more calming for me.
NIKKO : I joke that my therapy is grocery shopping at Carmine's. I love going there to pick out wine and planning a meal for that evening.
Here’s
a tough final one:
what would
you pick if given the choice, a house on the beach or a house on the intracoastal with a dock?
CAMILLA: I can go back and forth on this topic all day! I think they are both amazing options and they offer different lifestyles. Waking up in your beachfront home with a view of the ocean, having your coffee and seeing a pod of dolphins cruise by is pretty incredible. On the other hand, if you are an avid boater, then having your boat in your backyard is a nobrainer. Can I say that I think the perfect solution (and a real option) is to have both?
NIKKO: Today, I’ll say beach, but when you have a dock you use your boat more. Give me a beach for most of the year and a vacation home with a dock and I won’t complain. Wait, did Camilla say both? I didn’t know we could say both! Can I change my answer to both too …?

In Florida's real estate landscape, Jupiter stands out as an understated gem. Here, I share my passion for drone photography as a tool for presenting Jupiter’s premium homes to discerning clients seeking a waterfront lifestyle.
As the sun gleams off the turquoise waters of the Florida Intracoastal, my drone glides above, highlighting the beauty of Jupiter’s landscape from a fresh perspective. Capturing the perfect shot is a game of patience, but the final results speak for themselves.
From my aerial vantage point, I watch Jupiter come alive – the changing of the tide, paddle boarders gliding serenely, families cycling along the shore, and boats at lively sandbars. This is a spectacle that only a drone, a plane, or a helicopter can see from above.
Residents don't always realize the magnificence of their own backyards until they see it from
the air. Through the lens of my drone's camera, I have assisted homeowners to see the splendor of their properties from new angles and recognize the inherent value. This visual advocacy transcends photography; it's a means to position Jupiter as a sought-after destination for prospective homebuyers who might otherwise look elsewhere.
Objectively speaking, Jupiter's real estate surpasses many other coastal areas in Florida, and one could make a compelling case that it ranks among the finest globally. A decade ago, such recognition was less common. While individuals may have appreciated its beauty, Jupiter wasn't a focal point in discussions about desirable places to live.
However, a transformative shift has recently occurred. More people are recognizing Jupiter as an exceptionally desirable place to call home. Nestled amidst protected natural reserves, Jupiter offers a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle. The emergence of upscale dining establishments has further enriched the social scene.
Now, whether one embraces it or not, Jupiter competes with the likes of Boca Raton and West Palm Beach. We have even started to receieve inquiries from Palm Beach homeowners contemplating a move to Jupiter Island. This heightened awareness has led to an increase in the number of buyers considering Jupiter over other destinations.
In an age driven by digital experiences, the line between an average property listing and an exceptional one is defined by the quality of the narrative. When properly presented, Jupiter has all the right ingredients to go head-to-head with the best real estate in the world.
When representing a special home for sale, our role is to extract maximum value from the market. We not only compete against other local homes but also against other regions in Florida for the same pool of qualified buyers.
Drawing from my expertise in marketing yachts, we apply a similar approach to exceptional homes in Jupiter. Our mission is to transcend the ordinary, crafting narratives that impress even the most discerning clientele.
This approach sets each home we represent apart from the standard promotional content prevalent in today's market. By elevating real estate marketing to new heights, each listing captivates potential buyers, expanding the reach necessary to serve sellers effectively.
In our pursuit of the perfect presentation, we adhere to a simple philosophy: invest in the best. This extends to our selection of videographers, interior photographers, our PR team and media reach. Your property isn't just another listing; its presentation must
outshine the competition. When viewers encounter our presentation, our objective is to evoke an enthusiastic 'wow.' This is the level required to thrive in the luxury segment and captivate the attention of the most qualified buyers and their brokers.
Quality takes time. We wait for the perfect conditions, refusing to compromise by rushing to shoot on a suboptimal day. Luxury storytelling demands a dedication to quality, and we are committed to going the extra mile to showcase Jupiter real estate in the best possible light.
In the ever-evolving real estate market, Jupiter's story is still unfolding, and from above, its future appears as bright and inviting as its radiant shores.
Through this bird’s-eye perspective, I invite the world to discover why Jupiter isn't just a location; it's a gateway to a
lifestyle that will only become more desirable over time. Every flight and every presentation brings us closer to this goal. -NK

My real estate journey is more than a profession; it's a culmination of experiences in hospitality, travel, and property management. Let me invite you into my world of matchmaking, where each client's needs form the basis of our service.
In the realm of high-end real estate, the distinction lies not just in the properties themselves, but in the tailored care and meticulous attention given to each client.
My background, spanning from the hospitality industry to the exclusive domain of bespoke travel, and the nuances of international property development, has equipped me with a unique perspective on what personalized service entails.
Over a decade spent in Southeast Asia, my husband, a seasoned yacht broker, and I immersed ourselves in the region's premier resorts and yachting excursions. These experiences weren't just indulgent
retreats; they were lessons in the art of refined hospitality. From the pristine decks of luxury yachts to the secluded corners of exclusive resorts, I absorbed the importance of creating environments that resonate on a personal level. The emphasis is not on the extravagant, but in creating special experiences with attention to detail, where the focus is on the client's well-being and ensuring they feel truly comfortable in their surroundings.
In Jupiter, these insights translate into a real estate service where each client's desires and lifestyle are the cornerstone. My approach is holistic – it’s about understanding the composition of each individual's life
and aligning it with their real estate aspirations. Here, transactions are not mere business dealings but the forging of lasting relationships.
My involvement in real estate is multifaceted. From the complexities of land acquisition to the challenges of new construction, estate management, and the dynamics of short-term rentals, each aspect has reinforced my commitment to bespoke service.
It's a calling where being a good listener is as vital as being a knowledgeable advisor. The goal is always to provide a service that reflects the unique character and preferences of each individual.
"I love to surprise people by understanding what they want before they’ve even articulated it."
The core of my approach lies in building meaningful relationships. I believe in creating connections that extend beyond the professional – engaging in conversations about lifestyle, sharing insights on travel, and sometimes, simply enjoying the art of a well-crafted cocktail together. It’s through these interactions that I gain a deeper understanding of my clients, allowing me to offer a service that is as individual as they are.
I love to surprise people by understanding what they want before they’ve even articulated it. For me, it's not just about transactions; it's about innately knowing the unique needs of each person or family, to curate selections of homes that match their preferences in a way that exceeds their expectations of what is possible.
This requires patience, thorough research, and leveraging a vast network of contacts. The investigative work, the deep dive into the market, and the understanding of each property's unique attributes all contribute to the selections I present to my clients. Each property is evaluated for how well it aligns with their individual goals and aspirations.
The outcome is a service that transcends the typical expectations of real estate. It’s about providing a level of personal attention that not only satisfies but delights. My goal is to ensure each client feels uniquely appreciated and understood, and ultimately, finds their perfect match.

A creative force on the Floridian landscape, Rene Gonzalez Architects is a design studio based in Miami and behind some of the most striking, avante-garde residences, museums and gallery spaces in the United States. For JUP, any client wanting to build a beautiful home in Jupiter will find the perfect design partner in this studio. We explore what makes them special.
BY RACHEL ROWNEY
Rene and his team are continuously shaping the architectural landscape with a rare dedication to innovation, grand purpose, and belief in truly meaningful design. Their Indian Creek Residence is testament to this.
Built in 2014, the Indian Creek Residence can be found on a small island between mainland Miami and north Miami beach overlooking Biscayne Bay. Its striking architecture is inspired by the natural environment, with odes to rippling waters, tropical flora and fauna and the sun’s rays. The design and structure are built to connect seamlessly with the plush landscape and gardens, with serene water features, shaded walkways, and expansive glass windows. “The Indian Creek Residence started a movement where architecture became more open, and the concept of indoor/outdoor living became a style that more and more people wanted,” says Nikko. “It’s been a source of inspiration for a lot of designs since
and it’s exactly the style of home that would work perfectly in Jupiter or on Jupiter Island, especially where there are a lot of older homes with more traditional styles that don't appeal to modern tastes.”
The home’s stone exterior, complemented by dark natural wood, responds perfectly to the blues and greens of the nearby ocean. One of the most special features of the Indian Creek Residence is the way light becomes something playful and unexpected. Reflection pools and opaque materials change and evolve in the home throughout the day, mirroring the lapping waves at the residence’s secluded beachfront. “These generous proportions completely transform the experience of the space,” says Nikko. “You feel different in a home like that; you feel like the world is full of possibilities when you live in a more open space. There are no constraints and spaces can evolve more naturally with your lifestyle.”
For Nikko, this modern design aesthetic is just what Jupiter needs to revitalize its homes. “It’s only a matter of time until we see more open architecture in Jupiter,” he believes. “Homes designed to celebrate nature and bring the views inside, to savor people's company and daily moments in this beautiful
environment, for many that is what would enhance living in this area.”
Finding the right architect for a dream home isn’t just about choosing a professional, it’s about partnering with someone who understands the beauty of Florida living, and who can bring your design to life.
“I want to encourage my clients to stretch their imaginations and see the full potential of life in Jupiter,” says Nikko. “A beautiful Rene Gonzalez home in Jupiter could be the breathtaking expression of this.”

JUP loves great design. And we love connecting with great designers to discuss ethos, inspiration and industry insights. Here we chat with interior designer Tessa Platner of Tessa Platner Studio in Los Angeles. A Malibu native with over 20 years of experience, Tessa is known for creating interiors with serious soul. With a focus on comfort and functionality, she uses her passion for travel, history, architecture and art to infuse each space with a luxurious authenticity and intimacy.
Can you share a bit about yourself and your design ethos?
TESSA: Our design ethos revolves around creating spaces that reflect the unique personalities and desires of our clients. We believe in crafting homes that blend timeless elegance with modern functionality, while incorporating elements inspired by global travels and authentic pieces. Our goal is to create soulful projects that resonate with our clients on a deep level.
CHANNEL DRIVE MONTECITO, CALIFORNIA
How do you ensure that turn key homes are also a unique expression of a client’s personality? And why do you think it is even more important in an area like Jupiter?
TESSA: Offering turnkey homes that incorporate the client’s lifestyle and details is crucial because it transforms a ready-to-live-in house into a true home. By infusing personal touches and elements that reflect the client’s identity, we create a space that feels deeply connected to its occupants. In an area like Jupiter, this is even more important as it is a place known for its vibrant and diverse community. Designing homes that embrace individuality helps foster a sense of belonging and creates spaces that truly feel like a personal sanctuary.
How would you normally start working with a client on designing their dream home?
TESSA: When working with a client to design their dream home, we prioritize building a strong relationship based on trust and understanding. We take the time to listen to their vision, needs, and desires, and then translate that into a design concept that captures their unique essence. Our collaborative process involves regular communication, sharing ideas and inspiration, and incorporating elements from their global travels or cherished possessions. It is the trust our clients place in us that allows us to create truly soulful and bespoke designs.
What trends have you been seeing lately?
TESSA: In terms of home design trends for 2023, we saw a real shift towards embracing individuality and making bold statements. YOLO (You Only Live Once) purchases are becoming more prevalent, where homeowners are willing to take risks and invest in unique and personalized elements that truly reflect their dreams and aspirations. This includes using vibrant colors, unconventional textures, and mixing different design styles to create a one-of-a-kind aesthetic. The focus is on creating spaces that evoke joy, authenticity, and a sense of adventure.
TESSA: Working with a designer like myself offers several advantages. When preparing a home for the market, our expertise in creating visually stunning and cohesive spaces can greatly enhance its appeal to potential buyers. Additionally, when purchasing a home in a beautiful location like Jupiter, but desiring personalization, our design services can help transform the space to match the buyer’s unique taste and lifestyle. This allows homeowners to truly make the house their own and create a sanctuary that reflects their personality.
Each project we undertake presents its own set of unique opportunities and we strive to create something extraordinary for every client. Discretion is a core value of ours, and we are always available to discreetly discuss any specific questions or concerns you may have.

In the ever-evolving landscape of property design, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) is now being used as a creative and efficient tool. To inspire clients, JUP has introduced an approach to integrate AI technology as part of the design and development phase.
This process starts with capturing a client’s vision, whether inspired by a particular architectural style or an existing property. “I realized that AI-generated images could be more than just visual representations – they could be mood boards, encapsulating what a client wanted from their home,” says Nikko. From breathing new life into outdated houses to crafting bespoke designs from scratch, JUP uses the power of AI to create a portfolio of dream concept properties for clients. “You can really bring ideas to life using AI in a way that's quick and breathtakingly beautiful.”
Whether envisioning a completely new build or reimagining an existing property, using AI can be a huge time saver to help showcase possibilities.
The completely customized AI concepts reflect the unique preferences and vision of each client. This is a collaborative design process – JUP’s clientele actively shape their property concept by sharing photos, mood boards and exploring design galleries for inspiration. With JUP’s support, they answer questions on location, land type, how they will use the house, who will be living there, and their preferred architectural style. These are inputted into the AI software and the initial concept
serves as the foundation that outlines what the client likes and dislikes. After presenting these first ideas, the JUP team works with the client’s feedback to evolve the design. With each iteration, the property vision sharpens, refines, and becomes unmistakably personal. From intricate apartment complexes to strategically designed commercial spaces and expansive estates, JUP's AI design services draw on the team’s background in property development, architecture and even
art history. It's a remarkably quick way to spark a client’s imagination. “When we have several images of what our clients love, we connect them with an appropriate architect and design team,” says Nikko. “It saves both design fees and time, as we have already worked to refine a brief and create something completely bespoke.” For clients who are embarking on their first project or unsure where to begin, the AI process helps create a much clearer vision.

It's the ultimate conundrum when it comes to finding the perfect property in Jupiter: beachfront or intracoastal. We explore what they each mean and the unique advantages each brings.
BY ANGELA AUDRETSCH
There’s something that makes the discussion of beachfront and Intracoastal properties and their pros and cons rather irresistible – especially for anyone who is a boater. When looking at listings and real estate options in Jupiter, people are always talking about the direction and type of water frontage a home has. But what does it all actually mean, which vantage is suited to which lifestyles, and what are the advantages of each?
First, it would help to highlight a couple of the different positions you may come across: beachfront east facing, Intracoastal west facing, and Intracoastal east facing. Each aspect comes with its own unique rewards when it comes to views, lifestyle perks and property styles. Obviously
a key consideration for choosing a home is sunlight and where you can enjoy colorful sunrises and sunsets. For beachfront east facing properties, you’ll see the morning sunrise over the ocean and sunsets will be enjoyed from your back deck. Homes located on the Intracoastal facing west means you get direct sun from noon to sunset and gorgeous views. Conversely, on the east side of the Intracoastal you’ll enjoy stunning morning sunrises and catch the cotton candy sunsets with the light behind you.
Nikko and Camilla asked each other what they are each drawn to – both had different answers, but both are very appealing spots for Jupiter homes. Which vista would you go for?
No matter what your preference, the beaches in Jupiter are sure to impress. When the surf is just right, there is nothing quite like going for an impromptu dip in the ocean.
NIKKO: Waking up to the sunrise on the beach is something you never tire of. You can see when the ocean is inviting without having to do a surf check, and you spend more time in the water. The kids? They have the beach as their playground. For me, there's nothing that compares to living on the sand and doing beach walks daily, swimming, surfing when the conditions are right and seeing the ocean every day. It’s an investment in happiness that pays dividends by being close to the ocean and the happy moments that comes with.
CAMILLA: East facing on the Indian River is a special spot to call home. Here you can get a dock on gorgeous turquoise water and look at Jupiter Island. Indian Hills, Rolling Hills and the homes off Federal Highway are ideal for this kind of lifestyle – and close enough to town, so still very convenient. Ultimately though, I would also say you should go for beach with a dock to the west if you can. A few properties sprawl from ocean to Intracoastal, and if given the chance, you can have your cake and eat it.
There you have it: one vote each. But what's your dream situation? Your own personal dock, ready to jump into your boat at a moment's notice? Or perhaps you prefer the idea of your backyard being the beach. We'd love to hear from you ... and maybe even help you find a Jupiter property that ticks all the boxes. -AA
