Design Strategies N
Applying a more permeable street & block system that provides necessary vehicle paths, whilst encourages pedestrian and cycling movement.
Creating a continuous public realm with different privacy levels (public, semi-public, semi-private) for different groups (employees, local residents, visitors, etc.)
Completing the public transport network, especially cycling route, by creating path through the site
Establishing a green network in local communities: Ordsall, Eccles and Old Trafford by creating more quality green space

SOCIO-ECO PROFILE
- Most of the landmarks are located within the Quay Area, enhancing good views and legibility, such as the Imperial War Museum North, the Lowry Theatre; - Listed buildings, however, do not contibute much to the legibility of the site, due part to their distance to site, part to the limited scale and size; - The most legible paths include the tram track running along the site, Trafford Rd and Broadway vehicle roads, and a cycle way connecting MCC and Media Cit through Ordsall community. - 4 major vehicle nodes can be easily recognised. The Quay Area which is connected by footbridges could be defined as an important pedestrian node.
