MISSION STATEMENT
The Junior League of Galveston County is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
WELCOME NEW MEMBERS! Our New Member class has begun meeting, and we are thrilled to welcome them to the Junior League of Galveston County! They are a bright, fun group of women and we can't wait to see how they use their drive to better our league and our community. Take time to reach out to our new members at General Meetings, while volunteering together, or when you see them out and about in the community.
NEW MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
Megan Wettenstein
What influenced you to join the JLGC? I love to volunteer and a girlfriend of mine in the Junior League of Austin is always telling me about the great outreach they get to do and the fun events they are a part of, so I decided I would like to get involved in the chapter in my community. What is your favorite part of the League so far? I like how relaxed everyone is and how many volunteer opportunities are available. What is the most courageous thing you've ever done? Leaving a job in hospital marketing that I loved, but wasn't right for my family, for a completely remote position that I had never tried before. What did you always want to be when you grew up? I thought I wanted to be a doctor. If you had a time machine, when and where would you want to go? Back to a time when my great-grandmother was still around.
