Thank you for taking the opportunity to read the 2023 second issue of the JCI Perai newsletter. It is such a great honor to be leading a dynamic Local Organization like JCI Perai, at the same I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire 2023 Board of Directors, who have taken the leap of faith alongside me to work towards our theme, and our mission and vision.
As wise men always say, if you want to go fast, go alone. But if you want to go far, go in a TEAM. As cliché as it sounds, my team of board members and the members of JCI Perai are witnesses of the growth and achievements of JCI Perai These team of people have been my pillars and strength, and have always been the seconders to my proposals. When I say “I WISH TO ACHIEVE SOMETHING”, these team of people would say “LET’S DO IT” These people are there for me whenever I have self-doubt and face mind blocks.
We kick off 2023 with a clear Plan of Actions and I must proudly say, we did well as a TEAM The ability to inspire more youth to embrace for leadership development has been the core of our mission statement. We recruited 4 new members in this short span of time, and this is a testimony of our plan and mission
At the same time, I am strong advocate to SDG goals, especially SDG Goal No 17 - Partnership for the goals. I believe that everyone is facing the problem of having limited resources, but when we partner up to work for the same goals, the impact and results can be exponential.
Through collaboration, we have successfully hosted 10 events across four pillars of JCI areas of opportunities. With that, we will continue our effort to inspire the community through various events by engaging multiple stakeholders such as corporate bodies, governmental bodies, NonGovernmental Organizations (NGOs) and most importantly the youth community.
With above said, let us work towards organizing as many impactful events, being guided by purpose and led by leaders who are always Leading in Action, we will achieve more as Action Matters

It is my pleasure to be Editor of the E-Newsletter for JCI Perai. Firstly, I would like to express appreciation to President Kenny who always compliments if I decide to try doing new things. Time flies, I can still recall my first day becoming Local Secretary on 1 January and it is already end of June now. Thanks to all Vice Presidents and Organizing Chairpersons for their effort in holding each and every meaningful and impactful event.
Next, I would also like to all Board of Directors and members, thank you for always standing by my side, liking and supporting our events. If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. I love working as a team as it makes everything more efficient!

We are conducted Co-host GMM with mother Chapter JCI United Penang. The event conducted on 18 April 2023 at Sunway Sport Centre. Through this events, JCI Perai members can have a chance to meet and collaborate with JCI United Penang members. Moreover, our new member Alviss also take up this opportunity as Co-hosting Organizing Chairman of this events.

On 20th April 2023, we conducted 2023 New Member Orientation Day cum Power Dinner at Red Power Marketing Sdn Bhd. Through this session, new member can understand the journey of joining JCI from LO until International
We hosted Physical Health Talk at Aeon Mall Bukit Mertajam. Eye See You: When cancer is looking into your eyes, which align with our flagship project Give Hair Give Hope 2023 Not only can enjoy a great health talk from Bagan Specialist Ophthalmologist, public can enjoy complimentary eye inspection and basic body chekup.
On 27th April 2023 - 30th April 2023, 5 members from JCI Perai participant in 2023 Area North Convention including Local President, Immediate Past President, Local Secretary, CD and new member. We have 5 voting strength for Area North Convention and CD Pei Gang challenged himself to public speaking and talent show.
Congrats to President Kenny Seow for winning the Most Participative Local President (Merit) and member Pei Gang for Talent Battle 2nd Runner Up in 2023 Area North Convention.
On 4th May 2023, in conjunction with Wesak Day, we have cohosted a community service project "Embrace Love" with 10 JCI Local chapters. Total 1900 boxes of lunch bento had been delivered to the underprivileged society. This project has bring an awareness of taking care of the underprivileged society.
From 9th May 2023 until 13 May 2023, there were 2 delegates from JCI Perai who attended the 2023 JCI Asia and The Pacific Conference and Malaysia Night.
On 27th May 2023, we are conducted 2023 JCI Perai Extraordinary General Meeting at Visionex Advisory. IPP Lee Jia Qun presented 2022 JCI Perai Audited Financial Report to the members.
On 27th May 2023, we are conducted Co-host event- Stock & Options Masterclass over zoom with trainer Victor Tan. Through this session, members can gain knowledge about strategies to protect and grow saving, how to invest safely and how to multiple investment gains with snowball effect.

On 4th June 2023, we are successfully hosted our 6th JCI Perai Installation & Awards Luncheon. We have participants around from the Malaysia attended this IAL, and enjoy the vibe with us. Thank you for attending and witness our growthalong these years.
From 15th June - 16 June 2023, we had conducted Co-host event- Go Global 2.0 ConnectthedotKLwithJCIJBEandJCIBandar Kajang Throughthese2daysevents,wehadbe inspired by the latest innovations through the Innovation Lab Tour and learn from esteemed ESG experts in our growth program. We can engagedinmeaningfulconversationswithlikeminded individuals, including entrepreneurs, industry professionals, and experts in the ESG field. President Kenny and CD Chloe Khaw had participated in these 2 days learning session. There were about 25 participants joined the event They get to know each other and have funduringthesession.
On 20th June 2023, there are 3 members participated in Area Incentive Submission
Briefing by Awards Chairperson Tan Wei Jian via Zoom Meeting. Through this Zoom session, we can understand the criteria and tips to submit Area Submission.
On 21th June 2023, there are 3 members participated in Dialogue of JCI Senatorship Application. Through this Zoom session, we can understand how to apply the JCI Senatorship, important things or information that need to alert and follow and also the submission date if JCI Senatorship.
On 22th June 2023, we had joint hosted: Breaking the Barrier Together: Advancing Gender Equality through Award Winning Bid Writing with JCI Bacolod from Philippines. Moreover, we had JCI Chicks United,JCIMetroBacolod,JCITalisay,JCI IloIlo, JCI Butterworth City, JCI Pearl and JCI Tanjung Bunga co-host this events withus.
There were more than 40 pax of participants who attended the Online Sharingsessionandabletodiscoverand understand the tips of Bid Writing This event will tackle about Empowering members through sharing of GAD best practices, and to equip project Chairpersonsandbidwriterswithtipsfor creatingawardwinningLOBids.
On 24th June -25 June 2023, we had our 2023 LO Academy. The main purpose of this LO Academy was to build the leadership of members and shape the culture of JCI Perai. There were about 12 pax of participants who joined us to learn about the journey of JCI, jobs and responsibility of BOD's and how to implement DISC to different personality traits.
Much gratitude to the Organizing Chairperson, CD Pei Gang as well as the committees' team for their effort. Let's learn together and strive for excellence. Special thanks to 2022 Alumni Chairman Lai Chong Yee and Past President Cledment Loke as our 2023 LO Academy trainer.
