It’s the little connections. —Barbara Havens ’74 At a gathering in Richmond, Virginia, Barbara met Brianne, a high school senior. Despite not knowing each other previously, Barbara quickly wrote her a Community Scholarship. Brianne is now studying at Juniata, in no small part due to the outreach of our alumni.

What did you enjoy most about utilizing the Juniata Community Scholarship? It was wonderful to think that I was, in a small way, contributing to a student’s college education. I also think that the student (and their parents) see this as another “something extra” that makes Juniata stand out. It gave me a warm feeling to present the applicant with their acceptance packet that includes the Community Scholarship in my name and it made me feel a more special connection with Brianne and Juniata.
