SLUMPS Regardless of what we are doing we sometimes get into slumps. My very sage friend Dave Draper knew that enthusiasm can wane in the best of us and advocated slump buster workouts when one can’t quite seem to get motivated. Slump buster workouts usually consist of something totally out of the ordinary starting off easy and ending up being a decent, but not exhausting amount of work. Starting is the hardest part whether it’s starting a program of exercise or even just starting an individual workout. In either case starting off easy makes the workout less daunting to face and doing something fun is always a good idea. If you’ve gotten something entirely different that seems like fun. Slumps happen, but the sooner we can bust out of them the better.
1. Determine the cost to provide state essential services and a reserve fund. 2. Subtract funding available for distribution of a Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD). 3. ONLY if additional revenue is needed to balance the State’s budget, should additional fees and taxes be considered. Increasing taxes, before full utilization of the PFD to provide state services, is taxation to pay a PFD- a nonessential need. State welfare programs should be expanded to protect those who have become dependent on the PFD to meet their essential needs. Retention of PFD funds to cover state essentials will better support our state economy by avoiding loss of up to 25% of PFD funds to federal taxes.
