Karama 2040 is a future vision aimed at developing and implementing additional green spaces in Karama, which is currently lacking in green areas due to the presence of residential constructions. the community being built in Karama is a model for thoughtful and responsible urban development, a place where residents can thrive and find a sense of belonging. It is a space that celebrates the past while embracing the future, and that reflects the best of what this vibrant neighborhood has to offer. Designing a community building requires a thorough understanding of the community it serves. This involves exploring the community’s physical and cultural landscape, meeting its people, and identifying the needs and desires of its members. The building design should be tailored to the community’s unique characteristics and designed in a way that reflects and supports its values and aspirations. Ultimately, the goal is to create a space that is inclusive, welcoming, and responsive to the needs of the community it serves.

Charrette 3 [ CONTEXT ] MACRO SCALE
Karama, one of Dubai’s oldest districts, offers fantastic deals, wonderful cuisine, and true local attitudes. The colorful, diverse area of Karama exposes tourists to a whole different side of the city. There are no massive buildings in this residential area, but bargain-hunting at bazaar-style local stores will give you a taste of everyday life. Narrow passageways and low-rised buildings with affordable rents are prominently seen. Users usually say its quite congested amd noisy with the traffic in weekends. Low-rised Buildings are prominently visible. While taller buildings are in the surburbs of Karama.

TRAFFIC
When closely observed to the site surrounding. its seen the void spaces is 12.5% whearas the solids are 87.5%. Prominiting mix ( Residential and Commercial) building are found around the site. The nodes of this place is the Lulu Hypermarket and Karama Centre. On site, it would the cafes. There are 7 enterances to the site. Three being with the use of zebra crossing and the other 4 are direct accesses.

MASSING STUDIES
Through Sections trying out where to place the mass/ masses accordingly to surroundings
Site is a parking lot by the munclipality. Which wil become an underground parking lot.
There are 10 trees on the site. Area of the site is 3810 sqm. 62.5m x 68.2m x 43.4m x 72m. keeping the 3 trees in orginal positons. Moving the other 7 in the landscape of the proposed coding schoool.
Set Backs of primaryliy 3m on all sides. (This is according to Dubai Building Code) Adding an additional 1m on the left side as when obsered near the cafe space was crampy.
Parallelly picked some sections to try out where to place the mass/

Charrette 7 - LANDSCAPE STRATEGIES
Using the grid, which will be followed in the landscape. As the sitting area in the original site is removed and replaced with parking. Its introduced closer to the cafes and wider with better shading. Its also having multiple entry to site . And a sit down area to socialize.
On a broader scale the path looks like “Promenade” . this is more improved and used to create other spaces. A promenade is a leisurely walk taken in a public place for enjoyment or exercise, typically along a pathway or sidewalk. It is often associated with strolling along a waterfront or in a park. The term “promenade” can also refer to a paved public area for walking or strolling, such as a boardwalk

TRY-OUT I
Circulation throughout the Site Shortest between 2 Entry points
Using the connection of the 2 parks , a grid is created having the cafe a th node of the site. Later progressed to field lines which will impact the design..
Using the connection of the 2 parks , the form of basic mass is determined. With the help of circulation the positon of mass is fixed. Bubble diagram helped in the exploration of 2 floors giving extra shading space for cafe purpose and circulation between future park and the site. This was a rigid approach hence it didnt get developed furthur instead developed a better grid system to move ahead.

CHIP CODING SCHOOL
The community coding school in Karama has a unique vision to provide an inclusive space for education, creativity, and community engagement. The design of the building is intended to stand out from its surroundings but also looks like it came out of the ground, making it easily identifiable and accessible. One of the notable features of the Community Coding School is its wide and functional corridors. These areas are designed to display student work, allowing the public to skim through the school and have a glimpse of what is going on inside. Furthermore, with every turn in the corridors are designed to provide a new spatial experience for people outside in the plaza and inside the school. This design consideration enhances the aesthetic appeal of the school and promotes creativity and innovation.
