VIE LOFTS

Vie Lofts is a student apartment complex acquired in 2019 by VIE Management near Texas State University.

As my first job in the United States, it was very challenging work, my role as a project designer and project manager assistant was to redesign all common areas to reflect the new branding of the company and add value to the property. I got involved in all phases from the conceptual design, budgets, and onsite supervision.

LEASING OFFICE In interior spaces, we used a neutral color palette with accent colors related to the branding of the company and highlighting some specific elements like the furniture to create a visual impact and generate a warmer ambient.

RESULT

We consider neutral materials for flooring such as wood imitation planks, in addition, we incorporated vegetation and green walls to bring to reduce noise and bring life to space.

7 LEASING OFFICE

CLUB HOUSE The clubhouse is the place where a different group of people or individuals could be interacting or doing different activities as a community or simply read a book. The main focus in this area was to create different ambients without the necessity of generating physical boundaries. The way I designed the ceiling, flooring, and the distribution of the furniture was thought to generate spaces within spaces and helped us to define the circulation.

In this room we keep part of the main structure to reduce several changes, we had to change the distribution and height of sprinkles system and AC ducts to do the fur down ceilings and include indirect illumination.

One of the greatest aspects of this design was the illumination, the main aspect that influences how people perceive space and the elements that composed it.

On the day this area was well lit because of the big floor to ceiling windows, but at night lighting was poor so I decided to incorporate more indirect lights and use direct light to focus on decor and some elements like 3d walls, wallpapers, and vegetation.

FITNESS CENTER

We incorporated colors and allusive images of VIE branding and lifestyle.

The illumination plays an important role during the night and a big challenge was to add, reused, and relocate light points to achieve good illumination also including ceiling fans needed especially in summer. The design includes the acquisition, redistribution of the equipment, and new floor proposal.

COURTYARD This is the main attraction of the complex created for the residents to rest and socialize. The idea was to design a cozy space where a small group could interact, sunbathe, prepare food on the bbq, etc. Incorporating boundaries that didn’t interfere with the visuals and also maintaining privacy between the courtyard and apartments. With a low budget, we decided to use practical materials and elements that could be installed by us, like the deck, gravel, curtains, screen, turf, and planters.

Atabay Hotel is a conceptual proposal made for Be Live Hotels (The most important hotel chain in the Dominican Republic). With more than 1,000 rooms this all-purpose hotel will host people who are looking for luxury, comfort, and relaxation in a tropical paradise.

The design concept of this project is rustic and we decide to maintain the material sincerity without high ends.

Designing the interior of this complex we proposed materials such as marble, concrete, natural wood, and fibers to add warmth and an organic feel to the spaces.

At the same time, try to incorporate tall vegetation to take advantage of space and a great scale to create a biophilic environment.

All the lateral boundaries were eliminated incorporating a translucent envelope to make spaces visually connected and at the same time, it makes the building looks lighter.

The design of the site was always thought to keep a central axis that linearly crosses the whole complex. This allowed the viewing of the beach from the lobby and the different restaurants in the main building to be appreciated.

CONDOMINIUMS FLOOR PLAN

CONDOMINIUMS The intervention of Playa Dorada Park located near the beaches of Playa Dorada in Puerto Plata consists of the remodeling and refurbishment of an abandoned complex that incorporates a golf course as the main attraction. The complex is composed of a lobby, a restaurant, condominiums, and Villas.

Each condominium has 8 apartments per level, with a total of 9 condominiums in the complex. Designed in a way that rooms can be connected in the case that a large group of people rents it.

VILLAS The luxury villas as well as the condominiums maintain their main structure and it adapts to the new functions assigned by the hotel chain. The facades are completely modified giving a contemporary look. We use natural materials like Coraline and wood for a beachy look and open the facade with movable louvers that help to protect.

Among the most important challenges of this project was to connect 1st and 2nd levels that used to work individually and generate a free plan for vehicles and golf carts.

We propose a “Minimal Rustic Style” for interiors. Dark wood in furniture and claddings, natural fibers with tropical colors, and vegetation were always present.

24 LIFESTYLE RESORTS FLOOR PLAN

This project located in Puerto Plata Province is part of the Presidential Suites Cabarete complex. It has three levels of restaurant, the first level is a buffet restaurant, this project in the second level “The Brick Oven” a la carte restaurant, and the third level is an Asian restaurant.

The concept that we propose for this restaurant is contemporary rustic and to achieve it we focused on the use of dark wood and elements in black iron and brick to generate a warmness space. The furniture made of dark rustic wood with black touches, as well as the marble of the tables to give more movement and a contemporary touch at the bar, some striped tiles were placed playing with the directions of the lines.

FREELANCE DESIGN

This project located in the north area of the Dominican Republic is currently in process of structural design and budget. The concept arises from a reinterpretation of the popular Dominican country house, but with a more contemporary look.

The challenge of this project was to make a hybrid of modern design without forgetting the traditional elements of the local architecture.

For this project, I had to adapt the design to this context taking advantage of the visual and climate of this particular tropical humid zone.

For this studied how the house behaved to benefit from wind and protected the interior spaces from the sun, but also maintaining open spaces outside.

the roof, this way it could create more shade zones, as well as other light louvers that help where the roof couldn`t protect from the sun.

In addition to give a rural look, wood helps the building lightness and also as a low thermal transmission material reduce the temperature inside the spaces. On the second floor, I decide to place everything in a cantilever to generate a shade zone in the back areas because of its constant use.

NEW ROMANA

Situated in Playa Nueva Romana in Dominican Republic the VP Villa was designed to be a vacational residence.

The basic approach is to create a Tropical Contemporary style house by using a combination of rustic and more polished materials both inside

and outside. The introspective design mantain a blind facade in the front, giving more privacy to those areas but opening common areas like the reception. The composition plays with the vertical and horizontal axes, continuing some of the lines toward the building well

appreciated by the change of materials.

The main intention in the interior was to create a corridor that would go from the entrance to the pool directly, keeping the well-lit double-height in the space.

The main principle of the house is to create passive cooling that can optimize airflow into the whole house by creating big openings to the patio covered by the terrace that helps create shadowed zones.

We are a team dedicated to architectural visualization with the ability to produce images that help the interpretation and presentation of real estate projects. We strive to translate the projects of our clients, in a realistic scenario, giving life to the designs with images that tell stories. We are specialized in 3d render images, video rendering, and 360° renders.

Boca e’ Jarro was a gastronomic project where the best of traditional Dominican food was made but with a gourmet concept.

This was a very important project for me as an architect because it was my first work as a project manager. Although the conceptual idea was already established when I started working for this company, I had to collaborate in the final design stage, in addition to being the project manager of the restaurant construction.

This has been the most challenging work in my career for the level of commitment that I was assigned in its construction and is the only one in charge of it.

Its contemporary industrial design where the elements of black steel abound in both constructive elements as in decorative elements and surfaces made of rustic cement cladding and bricks. At the same time, we try to add elements with fresh colors to contrast the neutrality of these materials complemented by the beauty of natural wood and real vegetation.

In the process, I could get involved in all the stages of the project, this way I introduced myself in the construction world.

This was a challenge due to the complexity of the design and all the construction details.

All the millwork was under my supervision and was made in situ including the furniture.

This different design made it stand out from the rest of the restaurants in the area and made it stand out.
