NEWSLETTER

November 2020 Issue Number 2

Hello and welcome to our Newsletter. We hope you found Issue 1 informative and enjoy this our 2nd issue. It’s important for us, your committee, to keep you updated so if you know of anyone who hasn’t received a copy of this newsletter please ask them to get in touch with Julie. Yet again we find ourselves being restricted by COVID-19 with laws now in place to stop meetings of more than 6 people in or out doors. Therefore along with most businesses and societies our AGM has to be postponed. Your committee has decided that as no meetings can be legally held they will continue to work on behalf of the Society until we can hold a meeting legally. We know this may disappoint some allotment holders, who feel a new committee would be beneficial but we would like to assure you that your present committee are working very hard to be transparent, honest and above board and to keep getting things done in these very trying times. On that note we would like to report that, courtesy of the RAA, we have had the asbestos removed from site and soon the missing fencing will be replaced. A big thank you to the RAA for their support with both items. We also now have on-line banking in place, meaning we can access all information as and when we wish, rents can be paid directly in and verified quickly and payments are generally much easier to make. We have had negative feedback regarding the complaints book, so it has been removed. Your committee request any complaint to be put in writing for it to be dealt with, if time critical please ring Julie. As before please keep checking the notice boards for new information. They are updated regularly. We also use the Clifton Garden Society Facebook page for news and if you are interested in the committee meeting minutes and our accounts they are available in the Canteen and on the foyer notice board for all to see.

Seeds, Seeds, Glorious Seeds! It’s that time of year when we are all thinking of the year ahead and what seeds we need to buy. The National Allotment Society has supplied twenty seed catalogues for us all to use, you can get these from John or Julie. Please return it as quickly as possible for others to use! Please give your completed orders to Julie by the 20th November 2020 so you don’t miss out.
