sustainability, water, wellbeing. Emblem is a bathhouse designed for users to experience water in ways that positively impact their wellbeing. Bathers will encounter a space focused on circulation around pools and baths, allowing them to forge new social connections and create lasting habits.
site analysis
In Celtic mythology, this symbol stands for harmony between the body, spirit, and mind. The precedents for this design include ancient Turkish baths, where bathers could relax in a dedicated hygiene, wellness, and socializing space. The design addresses these themes, giving users a place to rejuvenate their body and mind that serves as an emblem of their overall wellbeing. This bathing space enhances the West Indianapolis community through giving users autonomy with the ways that they practice fitness, movement, and hygiene.

Located in West Indianapolis, the project site is located within a dense neighborhood with a population of 34,341. 41.8% of households in this neighborhood are families, so this guided the design choices to make the space accessible to all ages.
