Project Update Wrapping Up!

Welcome to the last issue of the Inside Scoop!

Wow, we have come a long way since starting this project as you can see from the before and after pictures. The existing center had approximately 6,000-SF of space and with the new addition they now have a little over 12,000-SF of space. With the addition and the total remodel of the existing space the staff has a great looking, clean and fresh center to work in and be proud of. We were able to finalize the landscaping, receive the final Certificate of Occupancy and turn over the building. The management and staff were a pleasure to work with and we wish them well as they grow their donor base.

SPOTLIGHT When we were in the last 2 weeks of finishes, Mid – Illinois stepped up their game. Not only did they do an OUTSTANDING job on all of the wallpaper, around other finish personnel, they also quickly ordered and received the special color for the sudden design change in the Donor floor area, adding more rolls of paper. Additionally, when the first area of epoxy floor had global failure, they called in additional personal to correct the problem and still finished all epoxy work on the scheduled day required for cure so the storeroom could be used as a furniture staging area. Great personnel from the superintendent to the field installers.

SAFETY FIRST

Hearing Protection We all enjoy listening to our favorite songs on the radio, and listening to our must watch television shows, right? So then when we are at work we should certainly protect our ability to hear correctly! Ear safety, like all aspects of safety is aimed at keeping ourselves and our senses safe from danger and/or permanent damage while working under extreme circumstances. On any construction site, you are surrounded by constant loud noises. There are many different styles of ear protection depending on the project, but the most important aspect of ear safety is just being aware of the risk before you start any work. Once the damage is done, it can be long-lasting or even permanent!
