We are back with another edition of “On Location,” to inform you what has progressed during the month of October! Much of October’s construction activity entailed continuing demolition of the existing 3rd floor space, which as of the 31st, is complete! Temporary shoring has been installed in place of the mezzanine steel that has been removed. Temporary shoring, in this case, is steel that is installed to temporarily brace a structure while steel members are removed and until new steel is in place. Also over the last month, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing rough ins have begun. Due to much of this space having an exposed ceiling, these rough ins require extra time and care in planning and installation to ensure the final product is perfect. Metal stud framing is also in progress, which is an exciting milestone, as you finally can see the project coming alive with actual rooms!

FUN FACT Henry Ford was the first Industrial giant to give his workers both Saturday and Sunday off, in hopes that it would encourage more leisure use of automobiles, and thus popularizing the idea of the “weekend.”

Many of you may have also noticed that the drywall ceiling has been removed in the atrium vestibule of the church. This work was necessary to install the plumbing rough ins for the new bathroom fixtures on the 3rd floor above. We thank you for excusing our disturbance of your space during this time! Our team of trade contractors are working hard to get this space put back together as soon as possible, so you can enjoy the holiday season without interference. Jeremy Brandsen Project Coordinator
