PHASE 2 PROGRESS
PROJECT MANAGEMENT UPDATE Spring has finally arrived in Holland and it is exciting to see that warm weather is within reaching distance. We are also excited to share the progress that has taken place over the past couple months in Phase 2 of the Boven Birthing Unit Renovation. The space is really starting to take shape! A couple months ago this area was just an empty shell. Now you can see where the rooms are and all the door frames are in. The soundwalls are all up and will act as a Julie Cole noise barrier between patient rooms. The south end has drywall up and the Assistant Project Manager mechanical systems are all roughed-in. The challenging task of temporarily JulieC@elzinga-volkers.com running supply ducts and return ducts was successfully completely by FHC. Town & Country efficiently relocated the electrical closet that was right in the middle of this phase. Allied Mechanical has been diligently working to get domestic water and sanitary tie-ins. The past couple months on the project have seen great progress and we look forward to carrying the momentum into the spring and beyond!
FUN FACT Did you know that the arrival of Spring is not just a day on the calendar, but there is an exact time it happens? The March Equinox (commonly known as the start of spring) started at 5:58pm on March 20th here in Holland this year. In the United States and the rest of the northern hemisphere, spring starts when the sun crosses the equator moving northward. A common misconception is that the Earth is further from the sun in winter than in summer. Actually, the Earth is closest to the sun in December, which is winter in the Northern hemisphere.
