WHAT IS THE HERITAGE CLUB?

BENEFITS

The Heritage Club is a special group of people who have chosen to have a lasting impact on the YMCA of Greater Houston by generously making or planning future gifts to the YMCA’s Endowment Foundation.

Each year, funds from the YMCA of Greater Houston Endowment Foundation provide opportunities at YMCA Centers across Houston. Some of these include:

As a Heritage Club member, you will enjoy the fellowship of new and old members, find inspiration in the YMCA’s work, and receive updates on programs assisted through the Endowment. You will also benefit from knowing that your legacy will continue through programs that are important to you and other Heritage Club members, and that future generations will be positively impacted by your generosity.

IMPORTANCE OF PLANNED GIVING Planned gifts and bequests play an important role in ensuring that the YMCA of Greater Houston will continue to make an important difference in your community for future generations to come. Planned gifts give you options for meeting your philanthropic goals that may also allow you to: • Make a larger gift than you thought possible • Increase your current income • Plan for the financial needs of a spouse or loved one • Provide inheritance for your heirs at a reduced tax cost • Reduce your income tax and/or avoid capital gains tax Can you think of a better way to thank the people or organization that has had an impact on your life than to make a contribution from your estate through a bequest?

• Staffing our International Services Center to provide pro bono asylum services for the community • Program scholarships for youth to experience: • Life-changing experiences at YMCA Camp Cullen • Build friendships and strengthen or discover their faith at Blue Ridge Christian Values Conference • Learn to swim through organized swim lessons at local YMCA Centers and low-income apartment complexes • Attend after school programs in a safe setting under the direction of caring adult role models • Provide assistance for residents at the Cossaboom Family YMCA • Allow children with disabilities the opportunity to build confidence and independence through the Leap of Faith equestrian program • Gang prevention programs for teens in Pasadena • Provide safe, wholesome youth and family programs at low-income apartment complexes
