What Are Quality Assurance Standards ? Quality Assurance Standards are basically a set of rules that are selected and applied by companies all across the world when they need to show commitment to their customers of delivering nothing but the finest quality services and products. According to the FDA Guidelines (GMP), any sponsor for contract research organizations and clinical trials are mandated to monitor quality assurance and quality control systems.

Quality Assurance and Quality Control combine together to constitute the key quality standards in any goods or services based company. Quality Assurance signifies a set of activities to uphold the quality in the processes which are used to develop the products and is aimed at preventing defects in the process that are induced in the final product. Quality Control refers to the process involved in identifying defects in the finished products once they are produced. This makes Quality control a reactive process, as opposed to Quality Assurance, which is a proactive process.

Quality Assurance has been around since the United States entered World War II in December 1941. The practice of rigorous testing of the military equipment used by the personnel of the US Armed Forces began with help from industrial consultants
