Designer Statement

The constitution of the Emilio Pucci house has always been to bring out the glamour through the smooth, flowing motifs that shape the female body, the elegance of the easiness and lightness. This collection could not be any different, those are the things this season asks for, along with the vitality of bold colors. Emilio Pucci Spring/Summer 2014 welcomes the warmth of the sun that is about to rise.

Season’s Fashion Trends

According to the best trends forecastings in the world, there are three macro trends for womenswear for spring/summer 2014: New Digital Aesthetic, Next Nature and Neo Geo. Each one of them them talks about the relationship of people with their eviroment, how we deal with the new technologies, our impact on the planet and other living creatures. Translating it to fashion, one can say this next season is going to be all about Maroccan prints, tropical motifs, stripes, tie dyes, sparkle in the form of sequin embellishments and orange as the standout color for spring/summer 2014

Collection Inspiration

The Spring/Summer 2014 Pucci collection was inspired by an easy beach vibe. Vibrant colors, bold hues – from raspberry, peach and plum to turquoise and lemon take center stage, setting the dial on the season’s upbeat, carefree mood. Figurative sealife motifs are the key here as the biggest inspiration; shells, seahorses, jellyfish, the swirls and movement of their shape is the essence we tried to keep in the prints, something that has always been the house signature look.

The Pucci Girl

She’s glamorous, yet young at heart and freespirited. She knows how to have fun and lose control when time is right. In the summerime she goes to yatches in isolated beaches where she can hang her hair down and feel the sand between her toes, sunbathe and later at night have a private party with her girlfriends. Enjoying life is something she knows how to do well and will not let anyone tell her she can’t!

Embelishments

The most usual Pucci embellishments are embroidery and beading , found in every collection. Lace is another finish used very often by our branc and that comes backs this season. Finally, bringing life and movement is splattering highly suggested in some of our prints.

Prints

Last, but not least, the prints! The first from left to right, are geometrical shells displayed in such a way to give the idea of waves in an ocean. In the middle we have representations of jellyfish indicating movement. To conclude, a Marrocan tile inspired seahorse pattern, suggesting a beading finish.
