The Liberty Charities 2019 During 2019, The Liberty is proud to be supporting two great charities, Haven House Children’s Hospice and Cancer Research UK. Local charity, Haven House Children’s Hospice provide palliative and holistic care for babies, children and young people who have life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. YEARS OF DIVERSITY
But their story started long before then. The group, who are all from Essex, were friends for a decade before they first appeared on BGT. In fact, they were scouted whilst performing at a fashion show (a regular gig) at The Liberty.
It’s hard to believe but 2019 marks 10 years since Diversity won Britain’s Got Talent, famously beating Susan Boyle who was the bookies’ favourite and, virtually overnight, became a household name. As you’d expect from such an innovative and electrifying dance group, Diversity’s feet have hardly touched the ground in the last 10 years. The guys are still together and now DVJ (Diversity Juniors), mentored by Ashley Banjo and Nathan Ramsay, and semi-finalists in last year’s BGT, perform with them. They also still have their studio and teach over 80,000 kids a year with the studio and Butlins academies.

They are proud of, and retain their Romford “roots”; Nathan Ramsay still choreographs the regular fashion shows at The Liberty and some members of DVJ, in true Diversity style, were discovered at the centre. They are about to embark on their 10th Anniversay Tour, “Born Ready” - 50 shows all over the UK starting from September 21st until November 24th.
