Difference between Vertical and Oblique Corrugation Machine

Difference between Vertical and Oblique Corrugation Machine Corrugation as the name suggests is the process by which boxes are made with series of ridges or grooves to add extra rigidity and strength to the box. Corrugation machines design these boxes by a series of corrugation processes. There are main two types of corrugation machines namely vertical corrugation machine and oblique corrugation machine. Let us know their point-wise differentiation: Construction- Vertical type corrugation machine has rollers which are bush mounted whereas oblique type corrugation machine has rollers that are bearing mounted.

Electric heaters- Vertical type corrugation machine has heaters which can convert paper to 2 ply corrugated sheets while oblique type corrugation machine has one preheater and three regular heaters which again can convert paper to 2 ply corrugated sheets.

Output- Output in vertical type corrugation machine is up to 50ft/min while in oblique type corrugation machine it is 40 Mt/min.

The vertical type corrugation machine is provided with manually operated twin shaft reel stand whereas oblique corrugation machine is equipped with twin shaft motorised self-loading reel stand and bull.

Corrugation machinery in vertical type corrugation machine is advanced single-facer corrugating machinery whereas in oblique type corrugation machine, it is single-facer finger type corrugating machinery.

Vertical type corrugation machine is steam heated, while oblique type corrugation machine has automatic lubrication pump with pipeline.

Vertical type corrugation machine has motorized loading reel stand, whereas oblique corrugation machine has reel stand self-loading hydraulic.

Vertical type corrugation machine has drive roll drive from gear box and oblique type corrugation machine has variable speed attachment with AC frequency drive.

The flute rollers of oblique type corrugation machine are made of special alloy steel and bull.

In vertical type corrugation machine, the gap between glue applicator ruler and doctor roller is manually controlled.

Oblique type corrugation machines are more efficient in comparison to vertical type corrugation machines.

Heating load in vertical type corrugation machine is less as compared to oblique type corrugation machine.

Floor space taken by oblique type corrugation machine is more in comparison to vertical type corrugation machine.

Weight of oblique type corrugation machine is also greater than vertical type corrugation machine.

Production is more in oblique type corrugation machine as compared to vertical type corrugation machine.

Both vertical type and oblique type corrugation machines have the same height.

Both vertical and oblique type corrugation have a variety of differences. While verticaltype is more lightweight, the efficiency is more for oblique-type corrugation machine.
