The Current Problem
The EUD (End User Device) is now an integral part of the SOF kit. We asked end users what challenges they have and what could be improved. We heard three key issues. Rapid Connection - the QD cable works well but there are operational situations where faster connect/disconnect would be better. USB Protection - the USB-C port on the device is a common failure point and needs better protection. Mass Provisioning - it is a challenge to manage multiple team devices between missions making sure that power and data is ready to go on a fast turn.
These challenges defined the mission for the development of the VELOX EUD ecosystem.
