OKLAHOMA STATE FAIR If it’s September in Oklahoma, it’s time for the most memorable entertainment event of the year, the annual Oklahoma State Fair!

We have packed a lot into our 11-day event including free exhibits, shows, attractions, concerts and great, separately ticketed, Arena events such as Disney On Ice and the Xtreme Bulls Tour.

Roughly one million people visit the Oklahoma State Fair each year enjoying the food, carnival, games and exhibits.

This year, be different and don’t just attend the Fair but “be a part of it.”

Show off your special skill or talent by entering a Creative Arts Competition, performing on the bandshell stage, competing in the band day competition, showing livestock and equine or becoming a Fair volunteer.

Whatever you do – just BE A PART OF IT!

Calling all art teachers — this show is just for your students! The Oklahoma Student Art Exhibition is a juried art show open to grades K-12. Hundreds of pieces are exhibited during the Fair.

Top students win individual honors, and schools can win art supply certificates.

The exhibition is free to enter and a great way to showcase Oklahoma student artwork!

Participating high school students may apply for the Visual Arts Scholarship.

Information is available in January and artwork is submitted in May.

It’s a piece of cake to get in on the arts action at the Fair! Each year the Creative Arts Department awards hundreds of ribbons and showcases the work of talented Oklahomans in crafts like quilting, woodwork, cooking, and painting. But did you know there’s a wagonload of other out-of-the-box categories? From duct tape creations to the salsa contest, there is a competition for everyone. Entry for all Creative Arts competitions is free when you register by mid-August, so don’t be shy—show us what you can do!

Be in the heart of it all – VOLUNTEER! The services provided by OSF volunteers help ensure that our Fair is one of the best in the country. They come from all walks of life and have a variety of interests and talents, but the one thing they have in common is a big smile! In addition to providing support for the Fair, volunteers meet for social activities and special training during the year.

FUN! EDUCATIONAL! FREE! FIELD TRIP! The State Fair Academy is an awesome field trip program designed to provide school kids, grades 3 – 5, the opportunity to have a fun, safe, educational and FREE experience at the Fair while teachers can simultaneously achieve P.A.S.S. objectives.

Teachers across the state agree that the Academy is one of the most organized, fun and safe field trips they have participated in. Enrollment is required and space is limited, so reserve your spot early!

THE ANNUAL OKLAHOMA STATE FAIR BAND DAY PARADE COMPETITION This competition is open to all Oklahoma Junior, Middle and High School Bands. Band, Color Guard, Drum Line and Drum Major categories are awarded cash and trophies in each class, and there are NO ENTRY FEES. So don’t let your school miss out on the chance of taking home up to $500 for your band program.

WHAT COULD BE MORE SATISFYING . . . . . . than raising, feeding and caring for a cow, pig, goat or sheep and then showing off your pride and joy and hard work, not to mention winning a prize for your efforts? Whether you’re an adult or a 4-H or FFA student, we’d love to have you join us at the Fair and celebrate our agricultural heritage. Competition information is available on the Oklahoma State Fair website in May. Participation by all is welcome and encouraged. See you at the Fair!

During the Oklahoma State Fair, we try to schedule horse related events that you won’t see very often in Oklahoma. You will see the largest and smallest of equine species and probably most everything in between!

You can expect to see animals in action that are unique, fast, powerful and colorful. We offer an assortment of competitions and demonstrations sure to please anyone with an appreciation for horses!
