StRENGTH & CONDITIONING

The William Taylor Stewart Strength and Conditioning Center is located Kennamer Hall and is widely regarded as one of the top training facilities in the Ohio Valley Conference. At just over 6,000 square feet, it is home to a wide array of strength building machines that has played a large role in JSU’s 37 conference championships over the last six seasons.

Scott Austin

The strength and conditioning staff is headed by Scott Austin, who enters his eighth season at JSU in 2008-09. Austin is responsible for the design and implementation of the department’s entire strength and conditioning program. He is also a veteran of the United States Military and served 19 months in Iraq, beginning in 2006 and ending in the fall of 2007.

Strength and Conditioning Assistant

Also playing vital roles in the JSU Strength and Conditioning department are Wes Brasseal and Ricky Rutledge. Brasseal begins his fourth season at JSU this fall. Rutledge, a former head football coach at Jacksonville High School, begins his fourth season with JSU.
