Park To Park

Page 1

The aim of this project was to create a captivating collection of portraits that showcase the individuality of people and parks in Plymouth. The book focuses on how people interact with green spaces and parks in their local area. I concentrated on landscape and portrait photography, considering each individual’s story to show the connection between people and nature. The main narrative of the book is to illustrate how parks are visited by a range of different people from all walks of life, no matter the weather, time of day, season or locality. I use green spaces to relax when feeling stressed or overwhelmed, so I wanted to find out why others visit these places.

I asked everyone the same question when photographing them.

Why are you here today?

A big thank you to the community of Plymouth for allowing me to produce this piece of work, from the dog walkers to the drawers and everyone in between. I am grateful for your part, everyone was a joy to photograph, and I hope our paths meet again in one of these beautiful Parks.
