TINA BUCKLEY & EDMOND O’BRIEN Veterinary nurse Tina Buckley won Edmond O’Brien over in a game of 45 in the local pub. They both hail from Liscarroll so it was only a matter of time before these two lovebirds began their journey together. Ever the romantic, Edmond planned the perfect Christmas morning proposal in 2014 and delightedly Tina said yes. She was watching an episode of Mr. Bean, one where his girlfriend wanted an engagement ring but he didn’t get the hint, and Edmond was in the kitchen making tea when he asked her to call their dog, Indie. Indie wasn’t a happy pup with a jewellery bag hanging off her collar, but that made the moment all the funnier and Tina didn’t suspect it could be an engagement ring at all “I just thought it was Edmond being Edmond, trying to be romantic with a pair of earrings or something”, Tina added. It was a magical moment and one they will never forget. The couple celebrated their wedding at St. Joseph’s Church, Liscarroll followed by a reception in Ballyroe Heights Hotel, Tralee with their 147 guests. THE HEN PARTY The bride was whisked away to Galway City for a stay in Flannery’s Hotel. While they were there they visited Coyotes Bar in the city centre and went crazy. The girls also had a scavenger hunt, “although we’re still not sure who won,” Tina laughed. The bride’s sister made up some gorgeous goodie bags for everyone and she made a memory book for Tina with all the girls having put in a photo and a comment, “my sister was like Frances Brennan going around with her folder all day,” she added.
