A BIT ABOUT THE BRIDE Diane Cosgrave, 30, is from Cappamore and works as a graphic designer. A BIT ABOUT THE GROOM Alan McGrath, 27 and from Limerick, is a security guard. THE PROPOSAL They got engaged on a beach in Tenerife two years ago. WEDDING DATE September 12, 2014. CHURCH St. Michael’s Church, Cappamore. RECEPTION Radisson Blu Hotel, Limerick. Vintage with a hint of Alice in Wonderland THE EXTRA Vintage photo booth wall that Diane’s Dad created with his friend. ANY HICCUPS? Bridesmaid’s car broke down in Bunratty and everything got delayed, but they saw the funny side of it and got some great shots of the bride and bridesmaids trying to push the car. FAVOURITE MEMORY Diane’s favourite memory is the dance with her father to a Garth Brooks song. SPECIAL TOUCHES? Tea cups and saucers with flowers in them. Also, there was a Vintage Times paper card on every table (designed and printed by Diane herself) that had the story of how the couple met on it. There was a guestbook designed to look like an old fashioned book with a key hole in it. QUIRKY BITS? A Volkswagen campervan. They also had mints on a two tier cake stand at the guest book table which had Eat Me, Open Me & Take Me with the Alice in Wonderland characters on them. The couple arranged having scrolls on the tables with a Read Me sticker on the outside and a lovely poem thanking the guests inside. Diane designed and printed the table plan on a canvas – with a picture of herself and Alan as kids. TREAT HighNelly ice-cream bike outside church

Not everyone wants sunshine on their big day. Couples are now opting for that crisp, frosty morning with winter wonderland themes. Winter weddings have now become very popular. Unlike a summer wedding, we know the predictable weather and we can dress for such occasions, still looking stylish. Formal Wedding Attire You can go with either a cotton or wool suit in the winter season. It is a smart idea to stick to dark colours like navy or blacks. While a pastel colour shirt will do, I would recommend a classic white crisp shirt with a contrasting tie in dark bold colours. Informal/Casual Wedding Informal weddings can a little bit more relaxed, still in the darker tones, suit or blazer/trousers are acceptable. The opposite to a summer wedding, blazers should be dark in colour, dark tweed, grey, black matched with medium grey, navy or black trousers. For winter weddings a tie should always be worn, to add a little bit of formality. To add some warmth Depending on the temperature you will need to carry with you some form of overcoat, stylish Crombies, Macs and maybe even leather gloves to add a touch of elegance. Dress to impress – remember weddings last a long time. After much dancing and prancing make sure your clothes are not just clean, pressed and appropriate but that you show up in a suit that fits well and is comfortable enough to party in. The last thing you want to be remembered as the guy in a powder blue suit with a huge tear on his rear!
