Hon. Kate Murray Candidate for Nassau County DA

A

merica’s largest township is a great place in which to live, work and raise a family. Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray is working hard with her colleagues on the Town Board to further enhance the quality-of-life experience for those who call the Town of Hempstead home through an array of impressive programs and services. At the same time as Kate Murray is delivering top-notch services, her administration is demonstrating the highest regard for taxpayers with a 2015 budget that actually reduces spending over the 2014 document. This trimmed budget falls on the heels of three successive tax-cut budgets. What’s more, the Supervisor’s attention to sound and forthright fiscal practices has earned the town its 10th straight “Excellence in Financial Reporting Award” from the non-partisan Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).

Hon. Anthony Santino Candidate for Town of Hempstead Supervisor

U

nder Anthony J. Santino’s leadership, the Hempstead Town Board has worked with Supervisor Kate Murray to control costs, pursue valuable grants and obtain surplus equipment from the federal and state governments. These positive steps have allowed Hempstead Town to provide excellent services while minimizing the financial burden on local taxpayers. On the town board, Senior Councilman Anthony J. Santino has downsized Hempstead Town’s workforce. Why? Because it saves taxpayers money – and a lean and efficient municipal workforce offers some of the best municipal services to residents. Anthony J. Santino has saved millions of tax dollars by downsizing the town’s workforce by 4.5% since 2004 – saving taxpayers over $15 million from 2004 to 2015. As Supervisor, Santino will continue to do more with less and ensure Hempstead Town continues being a leader in providing lean and efficient services to our approximately 800,000 residents.

Hon John Venditto Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor

A

s the chief elected officer of the Town of Oyster Bay, Supervisor Venditto is widely respected as a hardworking, creative and dedicated lawmaker with a record of accomplishment. He has a unique blend of ability and experience that comes from serving the Town both as an elected and appointed official. No problem is too small to warrant his full attention. He shows the same concern for securing new fencing for a ball field as he does when drafting complex legislation to safeguard the Town’s future. Supervisor Venditto is a fiscal conservative who works hard to make government efficient and provide quality public services at the lowest costs to taxpayers. Preserving the suburban character of the Town’s neighborhoods is Supervisor Venditto’s highest priority.

Donald X. Clavin, Jr. Receiver of Taxes Town of Hempstead

S

ince becoming Receiver of Taxes, Don Clavin has made a commitment to enhance service while being fiscally responsible. Two satellite tax offices were created in Lawrence and Hicksville, in addition to extending office hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the tax payment seasons for the convenience of taxpayers. Moreover, Clavin uses Hempstead Town’s Mobile Town Hall, obtained through a New York State grant from Senator Charles Fuschillo, to collect taxes and address the concerns of town residents. Don has implemented e-mail and text message reminder programs to help taxpayers make timely tax payments. Taxpayers now have the convenience of paying their tax bills by credit card or e-check, online or by telephone. Lastly, he has created the first taxpayer drive-thru payment window in New York State. All of these initiatives and projects have been completed and operate at no additional cost to the taxpayers!
