Week Two

FEAR

Part One: I’m afraid of letting myself down and, in turn, the unknown.

I think from a young age we’re told we can do anything or be anything and to an extent that’s true but what if you want to be everything?

Not knowing what you want to do because knowing that choosing one path will lead away from other paths scares me.

I want to be set on one thing, I’m envious of those who know exactly what they want to do and will pursue it at all costs.

I know that going down one path will without a doubt lead to others but how do I know which path will take me where I want to go?

I feel overwhelmed by opportunity and feeling the weight of expectation, predominantly self-inflicted, and worry I won’t reach that potential.

Part Two: The Future

I think from a young age we’re told we can do anything or beThe future is such a vague concept yet makes people either nervous or excited. It feels overwhelming as it’s often viewed as a grand thing with a huge scale. It’s hard to individually imagine where you’ll fit into the future.

Part Two: UoM

University can be challenging as you’re constanly judged and critiqued and to get anywhere you need a thick skin. You’re also one of so many so it can be unsettling to try and work out where you fit into it.

Part Two: What am I?

I don’t know what I am or what I want to be. There are so many options and factors to consider and it can become a head vs heart situation.
