Altus Architectural Studios was founded in 2001 with a vision to provide superior architectural planning/design services. Munroe-Meyer Institute for Genetics and rehabilitation Replacement Facility LOCATION

OVERVIEW

Altus’ scope of services includes program verification, design, preliminary cost estimating, permitting approvals, and construction administration services for the project, with an estimated project cost of $85,085,210.

Construction began in June 2019 with a move-in goal of July 2020.

CONSTRUCTION COST: Est. $85.1M

The project will consolidate, replace, and improve upon existing MMI facilities, creating a landmark building that reflects and supports the Institute’s mission. MMI strives is to be world leaders in transforming the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families, and communities through outreach, engagement, premier educational programs, innovative research, and extraordinary care. In order to achieve MMI’s bold mission, this project will be designed to align with the latest thinking about developmental disabilities. This innovative approach not only applies to the buildings design, but also to the Institutes operational model, which focuses on interdisciplinary care delivery – greater collaboration between disciplines – throughout a patient’s life span, not just pediatric patients.

The project will include renovation of an existing Aksarben office building at 6902 Pine Street, built in 2000 for First Data Resources. The design team must accommodate programmatic needs for clinic, therapy, education, research collaboration, and office spaces, creating new barrierfree environments for patients, families, faculty, staff, and students. Also of critical importance is improved technology infrastructure to enable enhanced delivery of tele-medicine to partner facilities.

The project will include additions to the building to house a new main entrance lobby, indoor and outdoor playground / therapy areas, and a pool serving multiple therapy components of the Institute. Site improvements will include minor roadway reconfiguration to create dedicated drop-off and parking areas along with the creation of an enclosed outdoor play area adjacent to the therapy areas. The design also incorporate and maximize new techniques in communication, mobility and transportation.

Methodist Fremont Health Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit LOCATION

Methodist Fremont Health's inpatient behavioral health center features 20 private patient rooms for persons ages 19 and older. They provide acute care to voluntary and involuntary patients in a safe and therapeutic environment, while

• 20 private patient rooms for adults ages 19+ • Comprehensive psychiatric and medical evaluation for patients with primary behavioral health issues • Designed and staffed to provide a calming/soothing environment for patients with safety and security in mind • The length of stay in this adult program is determined by individual patient care needs and varies widely, with some patients ready for discharge in a few days to others who may need additional time.

He also has been involved in the design of numerous specialty hospitals and niche-speciality facilities across the United States.
