If there will be hardships to bear, trust that He will give you the strength to carry it if ever you won’t be totally spared. Put aside fearful thoughts and imaginings. Rather, continually pray. Senior farewell letters

Dear Carthaginian Staff I never thought it would be time to sit down and write my senior farewell letter, let alone leave CarDear CHS thage High School and start the These four years have been next chapter of my life. It’s extremefilled up with memories and ly hard to write this letter because I more memories. My favorite am not ready to leave the staff that classroom would have to be A-6. I have been a part of. So before I Mrs. Quick has been an absoleave I would like to take some time lutely amazing teacher through- to reflect on my time at this wonout these four years. I’m sure derful high school and the impact going to miss her classroom. it has had on my life and the indiThe one thing I’m going to miss vidual that I am today. Four years ago when I stepped into the doors of in particular about going to Mrs. Quick’s Journalism 1 class for her class will be the newspaper the first time, I was a loud obnoxstaff which I have been part of ious, immature, and talkative fifteen for three years. I’m especially year old who had a lot of maturing going to miss my favorite staff left to do. Throughout the years my member, Carlie Smith. Thank character began to develop, and you so much for all of your time, I have learned the importance of patience, help and advice. Thank leadership and teamwork, and how you as well to all of the friends to write editorial, feature, and news that actually stayed my friends stories, along with learning how to throughout the years. I love you write headlines, and captions, and all and will miss each and every working with adobe Photoshop, and InDesign. The stressful deadlines, one. and the end of the six weeks press day has taught me how to work under pressure, and manage my time Sincerely, better. While it may have seemed Blanca Sigala frustrating at times my school year career has been amazing being a part of the Carthaginian. Through all the time I have spent with the staff including Rebecca Page, Shay Joins, Blanca Sigala, Jennifer Aguirre, Kristen Liedtke, and many more we have formed some tight bonds that cannot be broken. We all have shared so many found memories like ad sells, trying to sneak of campus with Kristen to go “take pictures” and getting caught by the guards, all the sports events I went to take pictures at, and when

page 13 Jenni lost her phone and we fell into the ice cold water under the bridge. This staff has taught me so much more than I have ever imagined, and I have matured so much in my three years of being a part of it. My skills of writing and taking photography have also changed tremendously. I would have never imagined becoming the editor of the newspaper or publishing 18 different newspapers with my name being under every project I have done. I can go on confidently into my future with the knowledge that I gained in this A-6 classroom. For that I am grateful, and very thankful. I will always cherish the lifelong relationships that I built over the years with Mrs. Quick, and the Staff members. They were the people who pursued me to follow my dreams in life, and I hope that I pursued someone through my actions. To the past, present, and future Carthaginian Staff members y’all were amazing people to work with and I want to end this farewell letter with a bible verse. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” With that say class of 2014 let’;s go out into this new world placing our life in God’s hands. Love all of y’all. Love, Carlie
