CLINIC NEWS December 2022

Stay Healthy this Winter JPS has continued to monitor the COVID community spread in Tarrant County and the DFW area. Today, Tarrant County remains in “medium” community spread. Influenza activity is very high and RSV remains active.

CLINIC UPDATES We will soon have the capability to begin doing EKG’s with the clinic setting (all locations except Stop six- due to spacing concerns) we are still waiting on a few items on backorder so we can implement this process. The “Hemphill_BH-All_Cln” DL has been renamed to “CBHR Terrell All Cln” in Outlook. If you are not able to find it under “CBHR Terrell All Cln”, please call I.T. They can assist you to resync your address book. BH clinics will be closed on Monday, December 26 and January 2. Reminder that space heaters are not allowed in patient care areas under any circumstances.

While JPS hopes to continue to be in either “low” or “medium” COVID community spread as we enter the holiday season, we will reassess our status after the holidays. If we remain in “low” or “medium,” then we will be making masking updates to include encouraging (not requiring) masking in all areas of our facilities, (e.g., entrances, registration desks, nursing stations, waiting rooms, hallways, lobbies, cafeterias, etc.), but only requiring in patient rooms, procedural areas, and when patients are directly receiving care including group/open care patient care areas like infusion, rehab gym, etc. More to come on details as they are officially implemented. Again, at this time, we will continue to implement universal source control requirements for patient care areas while encouraging universal masking in all areas and will reassess after the holiday season as we strive to keep our patients and staff safe. Here are some things you can do to protect yourself and patients during this very active respiratory season: Stay home if you’re sick – Per the COVID-19 attestation and Policy IC 303, if you have any symptoms of infection or illness, stay home and notify your supervisor. Report your illness to the Occupational Health Employee Illness Line (formerly the COVID-19 Care Line) at 817-7027000 or ext. 27000. Wear a mask – Masks are still required by everyone in clinical areas or public spaces, including our visitors. Wash your hands – Hand hygiene is the number one way to prevent the spread of infection. JPS follows CDC guidelines for hand hygiene. Get vaccinated – Vaccination can help prevent serious illness and hospitalization.

Employee of the Month - Rylee Witherspoon Rylee is a PRN BHS and supports intake as well as PHP/IOP and the PDR workflows! She has been available to support Intake over these last few months as well as still covering for PHP when we have staff outages. Her support on intake has allowed us to keep our referral backlog to a minimum! Rylee has spent a lot of time to ensure that we can not only run smoothly, but also allow full-time staff to have PTO. Additionally, Rylee is an advocate for each of her patients and is always certain to meet the complex needs of the patients she serves. We are privileged to have you on our team and are inspired by your constant willingness to learn and support!
