Hoodie

The hoodie has 2 concealed zip pockets providing discrete injection sites for users to inject themselves confidently in public without the need to lift or remove clothing.

The hoodie also has a soft bee badge which is used to help track injection sites by moving it between the pocket zips so children remember which side was last injected.

Story Book

The book is a hardback printed book providing an educational tool that helps teach adults and children how to use the products and hoodie. As well as helping children understand the diabetes process and learn management strategies to better manage living with type 1 diabetes.

The book also helps to add an element of storytelling to the products and hoodie to keep children engaged with the activities.

Story Book

The products have been designed to be easily handled by children and adults helping to create a playful interaction. Using a muted colour theme helps to give the products a friendly and inviting feel.

The finger stamper is used to track which fingers have been pricked in a day helping to alternate which one is being pricked and reduce bruising.

The frog which is a character in the book helps to engage children in the finger pricking process and helps to draw the child’s attention to something fun instead of focusing on the pain.

Habitat Hexagons

The hexagon habitats are simple to build allowing everyone from children and elderly learn to make them. The habitats can be used by a wide variety of animals from bugs, insects, mammals and birds. The modular design also allows them to be hung or stacked together over time to create a larger habitat increasing biodiversity and supporting animal species.

Karl from Ousburn Farm said the design would be appropritate to support a range of urban wildlife and animals.

Potntial future green waste material

This is a potential future process that could allow the habitat hexagons to be made from urban green waste.
