Ben is a helpful and enthusiastic young man that serving as a charter member in JCI Tsuen Wan since 2013. He has found a lot of valuable opportunities being involved in different JC activities and projects. Having joined JCI for ten years, Ben is attracted by the organization’s mission in this regard. Not only be a charter member and help to develop a local chapter, but also be a Grand Slam and World Congress Director to promote and lead our JCI value around the world. International affairs are one of the areas that he has devoted his energy to and has considerable interest in. International affairs have widened Ben’s range of experience in terms of his vision of the world and he is eager to share his experience in developing himself as a leader with young people in JCI.

Brief Introduction

Terry is an energetic and trustworthy active citizen who dedicates himself to lifelong learning and service to humanity. Since 2013, he has earnestly grasped various development opportunities and taken up leading positions in NOM and LOM. As the 2017 President of JCI Queensway, he led his mother chapter to reach a remarkable new height and was awarded as one of the Most Outstanding Chapter Presidents. After serving nationally as National Vice President and National Secretary General in 2019 and 2023 respectively, and internationally as APDC Development Officer in 2021-22, he is ready to further serve as National General Legal Counsel in 2024 in his beloved organization, JCIHK.

As one of the top Networkers of JCIHK who referred more than 20 members to join the JC movement, Terry believes that members is the most important asset of an organization. He is willing to share principles and methods with JCIHK members on engaging and advancing young active citizens to create positive changes in society together.

Evan Leung is a person who may give an impression of being laid-back or nonchalant, but in reality, he is very serious and takes his responsibilities and commitments seriously. This combination of a relaxed exterior and a serious work ethic can sometimes be deceiving, but it is a valuable trait that allows him to approach challenges with a clear and level-headed perspective. In his presidential year of JCI Kowloon in 2021, Evan showed his different ideas and vision to manage the chapter. Finally, he received the award for his mother chapter and made positive changes under his leadership.

Evan has served in JCI Hong Kong and JCI Kowloon with different roles in the past. In 2024, he will move further to commit as a National Executive Vice President. He will be responsible on his role and will seek different ways make changes.

RAFAEL WONG

Silent and cool are the two words that you might use to describe Rafael when you first meet. However, as time passes, you would say “Rafael is talkative and friendly. A good buddy!”. Actually, Rafael is just slow to warm up to new people.

“Commitment”, a word that Rafael cares very much about throughout his life. His motto is “No abiding success without commitment”. Once he makes a promise to you, you can trust him to follow through.

Before joining JCI, Rafael believed that having a “logical mindset” and being “decisive” were the key elements to being a leader. However, JCI has changed his perspective. Over the time Rafael has served in JCI, he has realized that everyone can be a leader in different forms. But to be a GREAT leader, he or she should be able to CONNECT people and help them EVOLVE together by serving the community.

It’s not only just displaying “JCI” logos on event promotions or highlighting JCI’s Vision & Mission to members. Brief Introduction

Matthew joined JCI in 2021. He took up different positions over 2 years in JCI North District. As Chairman of Flagship Project: Walk With Care, Matthew and his team had the courage to change and implement plans during the epidemic. This work plan was JCI’s first fundraising by NFT to fulfill the wishes of grassroots families and ethnic minorities in Hong Kong and met the needs of epidemic prevention supplies.

In 2023, as the MAVP he sets the target to make his mother chapter to be mid-size local chapter (59-90 members). He organized different activities monthly to recruit the new members. For retention purpose, Matthew met the members individually to know their needs and thoughts. In 2024, he will continue to serve JCI with enthusiasm, creativity and hard work! LOM

National Director Candidate ANN FOK

Ann is a passionate and helpful teammate and a patient problem-solver. From her first project of promoting active citizen concept through Fair Trade, Ann was deeply inspired by the JC value of "serving the community through self-development". Since then, she has actively participated in organizing projects in the four areas of opportunity.

Upholding the belief of “giving back to the society”, Ann has participated in voluntary service in various aspects, she was nominated as Caring Ambassador of HKCSS in 2016 and 2019 and LifeCare Ambassador of LUA since 2018. From the different positions she has served in her mother chapter, Ann sees each as a precious path to learn and grow. To equip herself further and promote leadership development to fellow members, she served at national level as NLDO and NTDC VC.

In the coming year, Ann is ready to take the challenge to contribute and help members of JCIHK to Connect to Evolve.

Serving as JCI Island’s executive committee in 2 consecutive years, Terry is a dedicated individual with experience in supervisory, management and leadership roles in local level. With detail-oriented and empathetic approach, Terry has demonstrated his ability to handle administrative tasks and develop effective strategies for his mother chapter and his company. With his problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure, Terry can contribute to the success of the team and organization.

Bosco has put a lot of effort to complement the shortage of experience in JCI. Since joining JCI in 2021, Bosco has been involved in varies of JCI activities, including organizing committee of Ten Outstanding Young Persons Selection, Honorary Secretary of his mother chapter, attending different JCI trainings and events.

Bosco believes his enthusiasm can empower the others to achieve a better outcome, and in 2024, he would like to take a further step to serve at the national level.

Frankie is a cheerful and enthusiastic person who has joined JCI Harbour since 2014. She gains valuable skills, builds a strong network, and makes positive impact by involving in different JC activities and projects. Frankie has participating various trainings and community projects, that can help her to enhance the personal development including leadership, communication and time management skills. Through the JCI platform with vast network, Frankie has connected with like-minded individuals with different backgrounds, industries and cultures, which can gain insights and beneficial for her development. In 2024, she would like to continue serving at national level, with passion in order to continue to contributing for JCI.

Prior to joining JCI, Yannes was a shy girl who often preferred to stay in her comfort zone. However, everything changed once she became a part of JCI. Determined to overcome her shyness, Yannes eagerly embraced every opportunity that came her way. She recognized that each experience presented a chance for her to learn something new and expand her skill set. With an open mind and a willingness to step outside of her comfort zone, Yannes fearlessly tried different positions and roles within JCI. Through this process, she discovered hidden talents and developed expertise in areas she had not explored previously. Each challenge she faced served as a stepping stone towards personal development and self-improvement. In 2024, Yannes stands as a shining example of someone who seized every opportunity to grow and learn. Her journey with JCI enabled her to break free from her shyness and unlock her full potential.

Since joining JCI Tsuen Wan in July 2021, Steven has been an active member who has demonstrated passion, skills and dedication to his mother chapter. He was appointed to be Publication Officer and eager to learn about JCI and the chapter. Steven is interested and passionate about JCI by taking Honorary Secretary this year. In addition, he supports Business Areas in both local and national levels. He applied for Asia-Pacific Region CYE contest and was selected as one of the final 6 candidates. He is the chairman of flagship project in Business Area for his mother chapter. Throughout his time in JCI Tsuen Wan, Steven has gained valuable experience and knowledge, which he continues contributing to the chapter and JCIHK through his hard work and dedication.
