250 sqm, Residential House, Jakarta
“OMAH KITA” comes from the Javanese language which means “Our House” with the meaning that this house will have an impact on the surrounding environment. This project’s design is based on three fundamental design principles: Sustainable, Healthy, and Multifunction
There are hydroponic plants on the bottom level, which offer a lot of benefits including low costs and the ability to minimize insect assaults and other kinds of diseases. Moreover, there is a terrace on the first floor that functions as a small urban farming area where clients may consume the crops/vegetables. Generally, home-grown vegetables seem to have higher quality and cleanliness than those purchased in other shopping areas, including marketplaces.
The sustainable design concept of the house is implemented by several aspects such as the design of windows that are distributed throughout the walls facing the east side, allowing morning sunlight to enter the building. Besides that, there are also windows on the east, west, and north side of the house, allowing the cross ventilation inside the building. Furthermore, the wall structure uses rustic brick that comes from the previous building walls.
The roof on the left has latticework made of iron-wood to provide space for sunlight to enter the building, thus creating a healthy and sustainable home concept.
On the first level, there is a mezzanine that consist of a multipurpose room for sleeping, playing, and other activities; and a study area with the concept of sitting on the floor.
This mezzanine floor has private zoning that is influenced by the access and the target user of the room.
There is only one type of zoning on the first level, which is semi-private that consists of living room, terrace, pantry, bar, dining room, family room, small library, and powder room.
On the first floor, there is an outdoor space that serves as both a seating area and a place to grow different kinds of vegetables (tomato, cabbage, spinach, etc.) that may be eaten to improve the healthy home concept.
There are two ways to access the home: through the office and service area or directly up to the second story by ramps.
The sidewalk area is used as a garden as well as a concrete seat so that the sweepers in the residential area can stay for a while to take a rest.
The roof is primarily built of bituminous, which offers a variety of advantages including lightweight materials, sound proofing, as well as fire and water resistance.
The roof has a slope angle of 30 degrees, adapting to the roof structure of houses in tropical countries.
The stairs has a skylight roof that allows the morning sunlight entering the building.
In order to create a healthy and sustainable concept that is energy efficient, morning sunlight can illuminate the building through the living room, pantry, and dining area.
The only access to the first floor of this house is by passing the ramp that is located on the left side of the house to encourage client to walk frequently and maintain a healthy life.
The ground level has a private area (highlighted in red) that consists of bedrooms, wardrobe, and bathrooms. The private room can only be accessed by the stairs to enter the bedrooms via first floor.
There are three types of space zoning on the ground floor: office (blue), service (brown), and private (red).
A multifunctional room that can be used as additional bedroom for guest (family).
Can be used as a children’s play area where the floor area can be sufficient for children’s play needs to spend time with their toys.
Can also be used as a place for users to do exercise such as yoga to maintain their physical health.
There is a small library which located on the front of the 1st floor that is exposed with a fairly large opening in the façade of the building.
An urban farm that allows clients to grow crops and vegetables for their daily food ingredients.
An office is located at the front to maintain the client’s privacy. Office workers will get a beautiful view of the reflection pool which is at the same level as the height of the office desk.
314 sqm, Residential House, Jakarta
C-apacious means spacious, where the layout of the rooms are arranged in C shape, surrounded by green areas such as frontyard and inner courtyard. The design objective is to create healthy living conditions by focusing more on natural air circulation and lighting, whereas COVID-19 pandemic still ongoing.
The location of the project is in Kembangan, West Jakarta with the area of 314 sqm. The design was created in the early months of 2021, when the COVID-19 epidemic was still active and individuals were beginning to work as well as conduct their daily activities from home. The goal is to create a comfortable atmosphere within the home to increase resident productivity while preserving their physical and emotional health. Fortunately, the site faces North and East, allowing us to take advantage of morning sunlight as well the spacious garden in the setbacks area.
There are 2 separate roofs with a slope angle of 30 degree because it adjusts to the building mass.
Secondary skin function to minimize direct solar radiation in the bedroom
Second floor’s zoning is specifically designed for private areas such as bedrooms, praying room, and office.
First Entrance from East. The residents need to walk through garden area to enter the house.
There is an inner courtyard on the first floor that allows natural lighting and cross ventilation.
Second Entrance from North. This access can be used by guests since the carport faces directly to the guest bedroom.
960 sqm, Resort Villa, Bogor
The EXQUISITE is a villa that integrated the ideas of Modern, Tropical, and Minimalist design along with Industrial color schemes. It is designed to be a place that encourages a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere for short vacations, with the assistance of the Mountain View on the east side.
The site is located not far from Jakarta, where the surrounding building also functions as a resort villa. It has an area of 480 sqm supported by open view in the backyard facing the mountain. Two bedrooms are placed towards the rear of the villa in response to the backyard’s mountain view, allowing the owners to sleep with a view of the mountains. Furthermore, since it is located in Indonesia (tropical country), a 30 degree roof slope is designed to ensure that rainwater fell into the grassy area.
238 sqm, Temporary Exhibition, Jakarta
The EARTHA is a temporary photography exhibition in a one-story building by three world-renowned photographers. Each photographer has a different style and genre. The goal is to design the simple structural system since the building is semi-permanent.
Eartha is a permanent pavilion for the three photographers’ temporary photographic exhibition. Since the word “eartha” itself represents nature, heaven, and sky, the architectural design of the pavilion uses a Scandinavian style with a neutral color scheme to create a modern expression that is warm, natural, and simple. Natural materials, such as wood, are predominate in the interior design’s features and decorative components to create a natural ambiance.
The pavilion features three photographic exhibitions: Close Space, Open Space, and Semi-open Space. The Close Space exhibition has theme of black and white format photographs of humans. The aim is to create private atmosphere since humans need their own privacy. The Open Space exhibition features a subject of nature photographs because nature is all about open spaces. Furthermore, animal photographs are the theme of the Semi-Open Space exhibition which is inspired by animal cages that uses perforated metal for the wall partition.
1950 sqm, Amphytheatre, Jakarta
Amaryllis symbolism is closely linked to the natural beauty, where the project is surrounded by beautiful tropical trees. The design concept took a shape of flower’s petal that covers the amphitheatre from direct solar radiation and rainfall since the site located in Indonesia.
There are 2 building masses in this site, where both are facing each other. The first building mass has function as tribune with the area of 126.75 sqm. The second building mass has function as performance stage and back stage that consist of several rooms such as dressing room, storage, MEP room, as well as toilet. The total area for the second building mass is 213.5 sqm. There is only 1 entrance and exit, where visitors will experience the beauty of the amphitheater because it passes through the 2 main structures of the space frame.
The building long-span structure system is defined as a hybrid structure because it consists of membrane and space truss systems. The membrane is stretch out by 2 main components, they are space truss (with clam plate) for the middle part as well as cables (with cakram membran) for each of the membrane edges. Since there is a gap between the two membranes, windows made of tempered glass are applied to block the rain from entering the tribune and stage.
2101 sqm, Cultural Gallery, Jakarta
The Ruang Jo Wakatu is an art and cultural gallery that adapted Rumah Gadang as a traditional house from Minangkabau. The design includes materials and philosophies from the traditional house of Minangkabau.
The site is located on Pantai Indah Kapuk, North Jakarta. The objective is to design a cultural gallery that shows the typical architecture form as well as the principles of a certain culture. In this project, Gadang House from Minangkabau is raised. The gallery is expected to drive the local economy by attracting both foreign and domestic tourists, which in turn will improve the local economy. The presence of tourists will trigger the growth of the hotel sector, service sector, and various other sectors.
There are 2 building masses in this Cultural Gallery Project. The front building mass has function as main lobby with private areas such as office and VIP room on the second floor. The rear building mass has function as the exhibition areas completed with workshop, auditorium, as well as service area.
