Career Development Center Spending her early years growing up in New Jersey and then moving to Mississippi, Tabatha Kenney sometimes felt like an outsider. “I learned early in life that I wanted to work in a profession that would allow me to combine the three things that I loved: helping people, listening to people and talking to people.” Today, Kenney works as a National Board Certified Lead Counselor for the Jackson Public Schools Career Development Center. Kenny helps students navigate through high school, work through personal issues and plan for the future. Kenney has served as an officer with the Mississippi CTE Counselors and the Capitol Area Counselors Association. Kenny is a graduate of Jackson State University and Delta State University where she earned her Education Specialist Degree in Counseling. Kenny is married with one daughter and is a member of Anderson United Methodist Church. Kenny enjoys reading and spending time with family.

She is committed to bridging the gap between corporate America and college graduates to provide a platform for the next generation to succeed. Currently, Dr. King serves on numerous boards, is a member of Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority, Inc., and is actively involved with various charitable organizations.
