I was born 31 years ago in a small town called Moaña, beside Vigo’s Bay. Since I remember I am interested in architecture and urban planning. When I was fourteen I studied and changed drawing urban plans from surrounding cities like Vigo. Then, I studied a Civil Engineering degree in A Coruña, and later I decided to broaden my intersts in urban design by enrolling in the Architecture School in Por-

tugal while I was working in Vigo as a civil engineer. Last year I was only finishing my University studies and making courses in Revit, Rhinoceros, Photoshop and Grasshopper to complement my formation in Architecture and Urbanism from Universidade Portucalense do Porto. Ulló’s old salt fields

Cultural landscape project.

Location: Vilaboa, Galicia, Spain.

Others: final project. Investigation and construction project.

The cultural landscape of the Ulló salt fields needs an intervention to enhance the historical and social significance of this place. Thus, this TFM explores various fields of knowledge, such as archaeology, landscape architecture, urban planning and finally architecture and heritage.

In order to develop this project, an extensive research of interventions in the cultural landscape is carried out and then 6 of these are selected as a reference to intervene in Ulló. The project follows a previously defined strategic plan, where the different actions are inserted.

Some interventions are almost sculptural, such as the Era de sal, while others allow the visitor to interact with the salt or small white stones scattered around, such as Un patio de sal. These actions are defined from a basic project to the final detail, with a materiality that seeks integration with the natural landscape, always in

wood, ceramics, granite stone and gabion cages. Finally, the intervention is also complemented with an information stand and two adapted toilets in the car park, so that the place will have a prolonged stay and will serve to position Vilaboa town council as a reference point for interventions in the landscape.

Berce project (kindergarten) Construction Project.

Location: Azenha, Porto, Portugal.

This building fits in a corner of the Azenha neighborhood, in Porto, and the program consists in a kindergarten for almost 30 kids. The design concept for this building is a metaphore of a cradle, because children must experiment the environment

under some protection, in this case the wood porches. So, this project begins with the study of the empty plot, then it continues with the study of urbanistic conditionants, obtaing the result above this introduction.

The rithm of a typical cradle is applied in the design, with the subdivision of the volumes obtained. The program fits inside this subdivisions. This project goes from conceptual design to detail design, developing a full project with ejecution documentation, plans and techincal conditions. Some of the designed plans are: full basic project plans, some structure indications, span plans, construction sections, constructive details and furniture.

A “Maia” for the World Urbanism Project.

Location: Maia, Porto, Portugal.

Maia means mesh in portuguese. This city located in the north part of Porto has a potential development area at west of its urban center, at the other side of N14 main road. This rururban area has some historical and dotational plots, such as some Quintas (big heritage plots), ceme-

tery, church, primary school and Maia’s Zoo among others. The urban design strategy consists on equilibrium, mantaining low density, mixed uses, priorising green areas and preserving heritage Quintas.

The masterplan is divided in different smaller plans of two kinds. One type are special plans and the other one are partial plans of private development. The first ones reconect the area within its boundaries, while the second ones trans-

form the interior mesh of this rururban space. There is also projected a new Metro line and a new Metro station close to the old railway stop of Maia, one of the centralities of this project.

pment centre in a corner of an unfinished urban block. Instead of finishing this corner traditionally I broke this urbanistic rule to make more edges in the block, splitting the linear building in three buildings perpendicular to the road.

The equipment of the building is entirely on the ground floor. It has three differentiated areas that were given in the programme and has several courtyards to provide ventilation and lighting to the rooms.

Saint Ana’s chapel project is a conceptual project inserted into a heritage context. The first part of the project consisted of drawing up plans of the current state of the chapel, analysing their pathologies and drawing in detail their elements, then it was done an interpretation of the old state. The second part of the course consisted in design an intervention, attending to the main conditionants of patologies and historical context, along with the cultural, social and historical values.

Saint Ana is associated with fertility and maternity, but the story of the place revealed us that apparently this chapel was unfinished by a family with no child. The developed concept is a place of reflection, with a kind of small river that evoques that fertility and also life. The proposal consist on porches with benches in wood, giving an intimate space for introspection but also masses.

Singular urban elevator Design conquest.

Location: Vigo, Spain.

Others: 4th place design.

The Vigo city council organised this public conquest in January 2021. This design competition request for a new conection between the low part of the city and the upper part of the new train station of Vigo designed by Thom Mayne. The singular elevator project was thought for saving a height of almost 40 m, with a budget of six million €. This proposal aims to reconnect the city in three diffe-

rent dimensions. The lower dimension would be a linear park, a new green axis in the city, the middle dimension, the main footbridge take people to the mall, bus station and train station and the upper part take the visitors to the new urban square in the roof of the mall.

The design of this proposal is a kind of mooring, a point of fastening for the shopping mall to the low harbour part of the city. The linear park included ornamental plants, new street furniture and also a new connection be-

tween neighborhoods. The footbrigde structure is in steel, with a central bench covered in Iroko wood. In this project I also managed the conquest documentation such as memories, plans and budget.

PASARELA

This project consists of the refurbishment of a commercial shop for its transformation into a dwelling. The design is based on the premises of the local and regional administration (habitability law). This dwelling will have three main rooms (living room, kitchen and bedroom) and several service rooms (toilet, laundry and general storage) with the minimum surfaces indicated in the regulation.

The interior design is driven to the exterior by a façade designed on 4 levels: opaque, u-glass, glass with a wooden rhythm and opaque space in wood to hide the false ceiling. The main façade is that of the kitchen, a more public space than the rear, a public green area which is also given direct access from the living room, with the possibility of installing a summer terrace to the east.

River Guadiaro pedestrian bridge Design conquest.

Location: San Roque, Cádiz, Spain.

Others: winner proposal.

This public conquest was held by the city council of San Roque in 2021. The design competition was based on communicate the towns of Guadiaro and San Enrique with a new pedestrian bridge

which also could be used by emergency vehicles. The river Guadiaro has 70 m width in this location and the principal design decision was to not put pillars into the riverbed.

ded a cork pavement for the bridge, a glass railing and also the urbanisation of the main access from San Enrique town, made on deactivated concrete. In this project I managed the works of the most part of the conquest documentation as memories, plans and budget.
