faculty and staff who continue to invest in a better tomorrow. Those of you who wear this ring today have seen the possibilities and have dared to follow your dreams. You are the University.
Each of our ring’s attributes represent a piece of our character and spirit. Made of gold with the interlocking OU at its center, these features symbolize the quality of an OU education and the strength of our pride. The Cherokee Gothic style border honors our diverse community and reminds us that we are all valued members of the OU family. Constructed as senior class gifts from previous generations and placed at every major entrance to campus, our iconic arches are featured on each side of the OU ring as gateways that welcome the innovative thinker.
The official ring of the University of Oklahoma depicts our commitment to sharing knowledge and discovering new ideas. At our University the possibilities are endless. Every student who earns the right to wear the OU ring has lived by example and persevered with courage. As our first university president David Ross Boyd said, “What possibilities!”
